WENN.com Eden Sher attended the Critics Choice Awards last night and I so didn’t recognize The Middle star that I had to ask the show’s publicist if it was really her. I mean I am so blown away that is Sue Heck, the character I felt most sorry for this season, because she looks nothing like the teen we watch every Wednesday at 8p. Not that Sue needs our sympathies because she always made it through every challenge in her own happy positive way, but still you know what I mean.
Now back to Sher, what a beautiful transformation! I almost want the ABC comedy to end just so she can look more like that than the red-headed with braces Sue.
Tonight at 8p on ABC Whoopi Goldberg guest stars on The Middle and she plays Sue’s Guidance Counselor. She convinces Sue to change herself and let’s just say it goes as well as when Jan wore a curly brown wig on The Brady Bunch. But the best part of the episode comes at the end and you will once again be saying poor Sue.
While Sue is having her own issues, her parents decide to buy a new bed. And the show brings back the silent movie style to understand the Heck’s relationship. It is so well done, you will have to tune into watch it.
After Sue’s poor Sue moment, tune into Suburgatory at 8:30p where Tessa and George’s relationship is changed forever. I have to leave you Clueless about what happens, but what I can tell you is they have one of the weirdest and cutest sonograms you will ever see on TV. And did I mention that someone thinks that her parents might not really be her parents? Do you think you know who it is?
The yucks conclude on ABC at 9:30p with Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23
and James Van Der Beek is joining Dancing with the Stars. Chloe and him have some interesting moves, but not as good as the ones you will see him do with June at a wedding with him. Find out what they are doing at a wedding and see who is Chloe’s back up celebrity when The Beek is unavailable.
TV shows tape their episodes about a month in advance, so what do you do if you have to do a winter episode in Indiana and it is nearly 80 degrees in Burbank? Well if you are The Middle you hire Snow Business, the best fake snow makers in Show Business. They make it look like it is below freezing when the sun is shining outside and you are wearing a T-Shirt to work outdoors.
When you watch that episode next month on ABC at 8p, you can judge for yourself if the Winter Wonderland looks real or man made?
I am so happy that Patricia Heaton shared these pictures on Twitter because I think it really shows just how magical Hollywood is!

Then at 9p the Emmy winning Modern Family returns followed by another sitcom reunion on Cougar Town. Courteney Cox is joined by her friend Jennifer Aniston in the hysterical season premiere. Jules is having a hard time dealing with her son going away to college, so she decides to see a professional (Anistron) about it. Jules immediately beFriends hers, but when she learns more about her things will get weird. Cougar Town has only gotten better in its second season, so make sure to watch it at 9:30p.
ABC concludes the evening with a new drama. The Whole Truth stars Maure Tierney and Rob Morrow as opposing lawyers and we get to see how both sides fight to win their cases. It is an interesting concept and it works really well for this show!
Yesterday during ABC’s TCA Winter Press Tour Day the head of ABC Stephen McPherson told us before he told the casts and crews of Modern Family, The Middle and Cougar Town that they were all picked up for a second season. He then dared us to Tweet the pick ups, which we did and that is how some of them found out. In fact Steven Levitan, the show creator of Modern Family told us this is how he found out, “We were shooting a scene this morning, and I got a call from ABC and they were — as they were trying to get Chris Llyod (Co-EP) and I on the line together and get everybody on the phone together, it had already been Twittered here and our actors were already reading it. So when I came back to make the big announcement, they’re like, ‘Yeah, we know.'” For some reason I can picture Steven Levitan walking out on to the set and seeing the cast with those signs that Jesse Tyler Ferguson Tweeted breaking the news to him that way they were renewed. After listening him talk yesterday and seeing those pictures, I imagine that Modern Family is a really fun place to work! That could be why it is such an awesome show that has really helped to save sitcoms from near extinction. Well that show along with The Middle and Cougar Town! So check out all three shows tonight on ABC starting at 8p for much needed laughs!!!
