ABC announced a premiere date for the delayed, due to a sexual misconduct investigation, Bachelor In Paradise, but that is not the headline. In the press release they say that, “The previously announced cast will all be a part of this summer’s much buzzed about season, including the cast members that were at the center of the investigation.” Granted, as of now it is just for the reunion special, but I am sure they will tease the two of them throughout the series that will be back on August 14th and 15th. I mean they are the only reason to tune in, at least for me they are. What about you?
In case you have not heard, production was halted on this season’s Bachelor in Paradise due to a sexual misconduct investigation between two of the show’s stars who reportedly went too far due to alcohol. The investigation concluded, the guy was cleared and production began again. But with a new set of rules.
According to TMZ, they are limiting the amount of alcohol they can drink and supplying food so they do not do it on an empty stomach. How much can alcohol can they consume? Only 2 drinks an hour, and the crew and bartenders need to make sure they keep to that limit. Meaning the show just got a whole lot more boring because they are more fun when they are drunk. Without that it is not a paradise to watch.
UPDATE: TMZ says that if a couple wants to have sex, they have to get permission to do so from the producers. If they do not, then the producer can go in and interrupt the love making.
Bachelor in Paradise has halted production of its fourth season and it is reportedly because of sexual misconduct between two of the contestants.
Warner Bros released this statement, “We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico. We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.”
While the studio did not elaborate what happened, a source told People, “It’s an incredibly difficult and complicated situation, primarily involving two contestants.” The source added, “The show absolutely values the primacy of consent, and this instance it appears as though conduct allegedly occurred without the proper consent having been given. There are still a lot of unanswered questions, and a lot of people who need a chance to tell their stories fully, and the producers and the authorities will make sure they are given every opportunity to do so. Most of all, everyone wants to ensure the safety and well-being, both mentally and physically, of all parties involved.”
What happened? According to TMZ, the show asked DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios to hook up. That they did in the pool with a lot of alcohol involved as other contestants looked on. There was a lot of nudity, Russian Hands and Roman Fingers, and then something happened that is said to have become worrisome to the other houseguests in Mexico. TMZ says that Jackson, “says she put her genitals in his face and he began licking.” That is where the problem lays. When producers saw the video of the interaction, they felt uncomfortable and halted production.
No word if the show will begin airing on August 8th. Although, with the contestants already back in America it is highly unlikely.
UPDATE: Corinne Olympios broke her silence to TMZ today and “claims she was in a blackout state” when she hooked up with DeMario Jackson in the pool. She also told them that she “blames the producers for not pulling the plug and protecting her.” Although, a source told TMZ that “she was lucid and fully engaged.”
I guess we will find out in the inevitable very special Bachelor in Paradise episode that we all know is coming to TV near you in the not so distant future.
As long as we have known Nick Viall, the Bachelor has had a beard. But then yesterday, he had to shave it off for the Dancing with the Stars Disney night so he could play Pinocchio. I cannot tell a lie because my nose will grow, but he looks better without the facial hair. What do you think? Elijah Wood was on The Tonight Show last week to talk about his new project, but that is not what Jimmy Fallon wanted to discuss. Somehow the NBC host found out that Frodo is friends with The Bachelor Nick Viall and he had to know if it was true.
Once Wood admitted that it was, that was all Fallon wanted to know about. The actor revealed that Viall is a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), as in the twice dumped runner-up is as sincere as he seems. That is not how I see him, but, then again, I am not friends with him.
After the two discussed Nick, they moved on to dishing about the ABC reality show. At that point, they were like two teen girls on the first day of school discussing all the new kids and the changes the rest of the student body went through over the summer with their bodies. Making it the funniest thing you will see about The Bachelor this season because the rest is just sad. Very, very sad.
