The Daytime Emmys is coming back to television!

The Daytime Emmys used to air on broadcast television every year. However, when the ratings dropped, and it was eventually moved to online after airing on The CW and cable networks.

This year has been crazy because of the coronavirus pandemic, and it is benefiting from that fact. Come June 26th, the awards show, that highlights soap operas, game shows, kids shows, and talk shows, will be airing on CBS.

Since COVID-19 is still prominent in Los Angeles, everyone will be participating from home. That should be very interesting. The celebrities did not have to dress up for the Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon, but daytime television is a much different beast. They are used to being dressed to the nines when they are in front of the cameras. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how they dress up for the big night in their living rooms.

It will also be interesting to see what happens when The Talk wins. How will the hosts handle who gives their speech when, and will they talk over each other? That alone is enough reason for me to watch.

Yet, that is not why I will tuning in. I will be doing so to support this genre. Since a lot of us will be stuck at home on that day, why not watch. What else is there to see?

Nominations will be announced tomorrow on The Talk. I expect The Bold and The Beautiful to get nominated. That will give them two consecutive days of good news because they were picked up until 2022.

Sara Gilbert is all talked out

Sara Gilbert announced on The Talk today that she will be leaving the show at the end of the season. Between working on this show and The Conners, it left her with too little time for her family. Therefore, something needed to go and it was this show.

Her departure leaves Sharon Osbourne as the only original host on the show. Julie Chen left the show earlier in the season due to family issues as in her husband was fired as the head of the network over claims he sexually harassed several women. She was replaced by Carrie Ann Inaba. Sheryl Underwood and Eve fill out the rest of the table.

No word who will replace Gilbert, but I hope they go with Roseanne! Now that would be a very interesting talk show.

Julie Chen is no longer talking The Talk
September 18th, 2018 under Talk Shows. [ Comments: none ]

After a week of wondering if Julie Chen Moonves would be leaving The Talk, today she announced her decision. She will be leaving the daytime talk show effective immediately. But she will be staying on as host of Big Brother.

It was not an easy decision for her, but she needs to put her son, Charlie, 8, and her husband first. Her husband, Les Moonves, parted ways with CBS last week over alleged sexual harassment claims by several women before the couple got married in 2004.

Since the decision was so unexpected, no replacement has been named as of now or if they will be replacing her. Which I am sure they will be doing because I am sure Sara Gilbert will need time off for The Conners as will Sharon Osbourne who managers her husband Ozzy Osbourne.

Eating dark chocolate 5 times a week is good for the heart!
June 26th, 2018 under Talk Shows. [ Comments: none ]

So, I was eating a piece of dark chocolate, savoring the taste in my mouth, when I saw this The Doctors’ video titled, “Need Another Good Reason To Eat Chocolate.” As if I needed another reason, but I still checked it out.

Turns out eating at least 5 ounces of dark chocolate a week helps to prevent coronary related diseases according to a study done by VA Boston Healthcare System. They studied around 140,000 vets, who did that did not have any complications with their heart, and turns out this was the thing they all had in common.

Therefore, if you are like me, you are going to protect the ticker by going to buy the good stuff today. I just wish it was not so bad on my hips, butt and stomach. What can I say, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
