Carrie Ann Inaba is all talked out of The Talk
August 20th, 2021 under Dancing with the Stars, Talk Shows. [ Comments: none ]

Back in April, Carrie Ann Inaba announced that she was taking a hiatus from The Talk to deal with her autoimmune health issues. Today, she gave an update on her status with the CBS talk show. She says that they mutually agreed to part ways.

I think we all knew this was coming. At least, she still has Dancing with the Stars.

She is the second host to leave this season. The first one, of course, being Sharon Osbourne.

With these departures, the remaining hosts are Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, Elaine Welteroth and new hire Jerry O’Connell.

There was a report recently that they knew that she wasn’t coming back and they were looking for a man to replace her. Who do you think would be a good choice?

John Corbett was on The Talk today, and he had a big secret to share with his buddy Jerry O’Connell and the other hosts. His sex in the city days with other women are over.

“Jerry, I can’t believe that I forgot to tell you that around Christmas time we got married. Bo [Derek] and I got married,” he said. “You know, we’re pretty private people. We didn’t make an announcement. All our friends and family knew but, this is the first time either one of us has said anything publicly about it because really we haven’t had an opportunity. So, you’re my buddy, and now I guess I’m telling all of America or the world. After 20 years, we decided to get married. We didn’t want 2020 to be that thing that everybody looks back at and hated…let’s get one nice this out of it.”

That is such a beautiful reason to get married. May their marriage only be filled with hope and good times for the rest of their long lives. You can already tell that the first seven months are full of happiness because he was beaming with joy as he shared the news.

Carrie Ann Inaba is taking a leave of absence from The Talk
April 26th, 2021 under Dancing with the Stars, Talk Shows. [ Comments: none ]

The Talk is not having a good 11th season. First, Eve announced that she was staying in London and not returning to the show. Then Sharon Osbourne “left” the show. Today, Carrie Ann Inaba announced that she is taking a break from the daytime talk show.

“I have decided to take a leave of absence from The Talk to focus on my health and well being. We all know health is the most precious gift we have. And I need to take care of mine,” she wrote. “I appreciate the love and support from all of you and from my family at The Talk. I hope to be back soon! Ready for action! 🙌❤🙏I’m sending you all my love. And I’ll update you on my progress…talk soon ❤😘”

The Dancing with the Stars judge suffers from autoimmune diseases and battled COVID-19. In recent weeks, she had been suffering from sharp pains. I hope she is better soon.

Between her and Osbourne’s absence, that means the only hosts that are left on the show are Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots and Elaine Welteroth. The latter two have only been on the program for a few months. The show better hope Inaba is back soon or that ratings will be in the crapper.

Sheryl Underwood addresses Sharon Osbourne’s departure on The Talk
April 12th, 2021 under CBS, Talk Shows, The Osbournes. [ Comments: none ]

Today, The Talk does its first live episode in over a month. They went on hiatus because the hosts got into a heated discussion over race issues. The discussion was so heated that Sharon Osbourne left the show.

During their first episode back on CBS this afternoon, they will address the situation. “It’s time for an episode of ‘The Talk’ that will be unlike any other we’ve had before.” Underwood continued with, “As you may know, during our break, Sharon decided to leave ‘The Talk.’ We need to process the events of that day and what happened since, so we can get to the healing. Over the next hour, we will honestly discuss what occurred and explore some of our feelings. And we’ll also show you how anyone can become more comfortable discussing important issues and having difficult conversations. By the end of the hour, we want everyone to feel empowered and ready to move forward.”

Hopefully, they will get people talking and in a good way. We need to listen as well as talk. We seem to forget that. We think we are the only ones who know what we are talking about, and that is not always the case. In my case, it is. I am always right.

UPDATE: The Talk’s Elaine Welteroth also commented about what happened on March 10. She did not hold back.

“I think when you go back and watch what happened in that episode, you will see two Black women walking the same tightrope that Black women are walking every single day in the workplace,” Welteroth said. “As Sheryl said, we knew we had to stay composed in that situation, even in the face of someone who was A, not listening, and B, who went off the rails into disrespect when we were maintaining our respect within the context of this very complex, charged, emotional conversation.”

Welteroth went on to say this is the first time that she was able to address the situation publicly because of the investigation that was going on due to the heated discussion. She calmly and eloquently expressed herself and was able to get her point across.

On March 10th, Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osbourne got into a heated discussion about racism because the manager defended her friend Piers Morgan. It was so intense that CBS and The Talk parted ways with Osbourne after 11 years.

After not shooting any new episodes for a month, they will finally be back in the studio on Monday. The daytime talk show sent out a press release and revealed they will be talking about the topic that started it all.

“THE TALK returns with a discussion about race and healing; expert on diversity, equity, inclusion and justice Dr. Donald E. Grant will offer advice on how to have these difficult conversations; nationally acclaimed trauma therapist and life coach Dr. Anita Phillips will share her expertise on how to heal after a painful event or conversation,” the release said.

I am sure I am not the only person who will be tuning into the show for the first time on Monday to see what they say. They better make it worth it.
