A tale of two Lex Luthors!
July 8th, 2025 under Superman/Spider-Man. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday, they had the premiere of the new Superman movie in Hollywood, and we were seeing double on the red carpet, as in, two versions of Lex Luthor.

Smallville’s Michael Rosenbaum posed with Nicholas Hoult, the latest incarnation of the villain.

How super is it seeing them together? And with full heads of hair. That is the one downside about playing the role: shaving your head.

Nicholas Hoult’s son shaved his dad’s head for Superman

Nicholas Hoult is playing Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman. Today, when he was on Today, he shared the crazy way he landed the role.

Hoult and Gunn follow each other on social media, so the actor reached out to the director and asked if they could grab coffee. He was hoping that if a role came up, he would keep him in mind.

Gunn did, and Hoult originally auditioned for the role of Superman. However, in the back of his head, he knew that he would be better off as the bad guy instead of the good one.

So after meeting David Corenswet, he knew that he would be the perfect person for The Man of Steel. Therefore, he was not surprised when Gunn offered him the part of the villain.

If you are going to play Luthor, then you need to have a shaved head. Who got the honors? He let his son, Joaquin, 7, do it!

Hoult is excited for his son to be able to see this movie because it is kid-appropriate. It is also adult-friendly. He told Craig Melvin, “When I saw it for the first time, I left the theater, I just felt like hopeful for humanity, for what I can bring to the world and the goodness I can bring, and the goodness in others.”

That is something we all need these days. We need to be reminded that there are more good people than bad. However, that is not that easy in the current climate.

The Superman cast brings back the Mannequin Challenge
June 30th, 2025 under Mannequin Challenge, Superman/Spider-Man. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2016, everyone seemed to be doing the Mannequin Challenge, which was where people shot videos but they stayed still.

Then, as quickly as it became viral, it went away. You can say it disappeared as fast as a speeding bullet.

On that note, the cast of Superman, David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Skyler Gisondo, Nicholas Hoult, Wendell Pierce, Maria Gabriela De Faria, Sara Sampaio, Edi Gathegi, Isabela Merced, and Mikaela Hoover, are trying to bring it back.

How do you think they did? I think it is more powerful than a locomotive!

Which Superman star looks best bald?
June 19th, 2025 under Better than..., DC Comics, Nathan Fillion, Superman/Spider-Man. [ Comments: none ]

Superman comes out on July 11th, but James Gunn is already prepping for the sequel.

How? He wants to bring back either Nathan Fillion, Skyler Gisondo, or Beck Bennett. But he can’t decide which. So, he had them participate in a bald off.

David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult put bald caps on the three actors, and then Anthony Carrigan had to pick who would be in Superman 2 and who wouldn’t be.

Who will be flying with the Man of Steel? Becks beat out Jimmy Olsen and the Green Lantern.

Do you think the right Mr. Clean won?

David Corenswet is unrecognizable without glasses
June 15th, 2025 under Superman/Spider-Man. [ Comments: none ]

On July 11th, we are going to get to know David Corenswet as Superman in James Gunn’s take on the superhero. However, the actor had better choose to wear glasses or not, because you can’t recognize him when he switches it up. At least, that was the case for his co-star Skyler Gisondo. The actor, who plays Jimmy Olsen, was dumbfounded when Clark Kent took off his lenses. I can understand why he felt that way because I was wondering where Corenswet went.
