On April 21st, CBS announced that Stephen Colbert tested positive for COVID-19 and that he will take a break from taping The Late Show.
Today, the network said, “Stephen is experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID. Out of an abundance of caution for his staff, guests, and audience, he will be isolating for a few additional days. The Late Show will not be taping new episodes until further notice.”
Colbert released his own three-word statement, “WORST. SEQUEL. EVER.”
The talk show host went over two years without getting coronavirus, and now he has gotten it twice in a month.
Hopefully, he will be better soon and back doing his late night show.
Stephen Colbert was supposed to host The Late Show tonight, but it is going to be a repeat instead.
“I tested positive for Covid, but basically I’m feeling fine- grateful to be vaxxed and boosted,” the host wrote. “Thank you for the well wishes. This just proves that I will do anything to avoid interviewing Jason Bateman.” I think we can understand why he got coronavirus now.
Seriously though, I am happy he is doing well. And I can’t wait for him to return with new episodes on May 2nd.
A few years ago, there was a meme that went around of a photo of Keanu Reeves looking sad. Was he really sad? Stephen Colbert asked him the question we have all been wanting to know yesterday on his Late Show.
“I’m just eating a sandwich,” Reeves said. “OK! OK! I was thinking. I had some stuff going on. I was hungry.”
So, there you have it. The actor wasn’t sad. He was hungry, and all he wanted to do was eat his sandwich.
Reeves also said that he has been shopping around a sequel to Constantine, but can’t find someone who will do it. What are they crazy? I need that movie to happen.
Over the summer, Seth Rogen tweeted a story about Paul Rudd pranking him. He revealed that, “Once I was in the spa in a hotel in Vegas getting a massage. When I finished I turned over and to my shock Paul Rudd was massaging me. He saw me go in and convinced the masseuse to let him take over, thinking I’d notice immediately. I didn’t, and Paul did the entire rest of it.”
Yesterday, when People’s Sexiest Man Alive was on The Late Show, Stephen Colbert wanted to know if it was true. It is.
Then the CBS late night host asked for Rudd to demonstrate how good he is at, which he did.
Does Rudd give good massages? Let’s just say that Colbert declared, “This is really sexy!”
This is just one more reason why the Clueless actor was given his title from People. That and because he is really sexy! He can massage me anytime. But then again, I will take one from anyone, anytime.
This week, we got to see Steve Burns from Blue’s Clues again after a really long time, and we have had all the feels ever since. No one, more than Stephen Colbert. So, yesterday on The Late Show, Steve gave Stephen a comforting hug, and I am so jealous.
We all need Burns’ warmth and comfort after the last year and a half. Thankfully, we are getting it when we need it the most.
He is the millennials Mr. Rogers, and we need more people like both of them in the World.
