A nanny who looked after former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell’s baby Bluebell has been arrested by police investigating an assault on the child. The flame-haired singer, who gave birth to Bluebell in May, phoned police to report her tot was "bruised and bawling" after being babysat by a golf course employee in August. Halliwell had gone for a walk at the Hampshire, England, club, entrusting Bluebell to a temporary member of staff there. She came back to find Bluebell distressed with bruises on her arm, and she decided to call the police after the nanny refused to explain the marks. he Metropolitan Police passed details of the alleged assault to their Child Abuse Investigation Unit, who held a woman in connection with the alleged incident on Wednesday. A police statement yesterday confirms, "A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm in connection with an assault on a child. She was taken to a central London police station and bailed for return this month." A source close to Halliwell said, "It is a huge relief to Geri that the nanny faces the British justice system."

She was swearing and said ‘This picture is going to cause me so much trouble, please don’t sell it’." Mel has been dating Hollywood legend Eddie since they met at a friend’s party in June. Things looked to be hotting up and the pair recently headed to Hawaii for a holiday with their kids. Friends have said they even discussed marriage. The Spice Girls are to reunite – for a one-off meeting at bandmate Mel B’s mother’s house in Leeds. They once spent every day and night together on world tours, but these days the five former bandmates are more like strangers. To solve the problem, 31-year-old Mel has decided to organise a girly get-together while she’s over from Los Angeles visiting friends and family in the UK. Mel, who will marry actor fiancé Eddie Murphy in LA next month, plans to make the reunion a night to remember. The five girls – Mel B, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Geri Halliwell – will meet up in Leeds, in order to keep away from the media glare in London. A source told the Daily Star: "Mel has come home to spend some serious time with her family and friends. Naturally she wants to get the girls together. "Mel hasn’t even had time to see Geri’s baby daughter and is really looking forward to it. At the moment she is trying to confirm the right date in everyone’s diaries as they are all busy." The Spice Girls officially split in 2001 – three years after Geri Halliwell quit. All went on to launch solo careers.

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has complained to London police that her three-month-old daughter was allegedly physically abused, the singer’s assistant said.Halliwell had made a complaint to the police Child Protection Unit on August 18, personal assistant Antony Read said.Read said the complaint was about "an incident concerning her daughter Bluebell whilst in the care of a temporary member of staff." "Bluebell is now happy and well, and there are no further concerns for her welfare," he added in a statement. London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed the force was investigating an allegation of physical abuse involving a three-month-old baby. No one has been arrested.
