NBC wants their stars to be friends. Now that Miley Cyrus is on The Voice, they thought that Seth Meyers and her would be total BFFs. The other day, The Late Night Late Night host hung out with her, and it was match made in TV heaven. If the TV heaven is a bad sitcom.
On a positive note, at least she gets along better with him than she does Blake Shelton in front of the cameras!
Saturday Night Live tapes right by Late Night and when Seth Meyers isn’t doing his show security is lax on the set. Since Bobby Moynihan and Taran Killam knew they were going to be on the show, they decided to break in and record a little something for their old friend. It started off innocently enough, butt it didn’t end that way. That’s because they rubbed their naked a$$es all over his desk. An image we won’t ever stopped seeing and a smell he won’t soon forget.
Steven Tyler’s dad was a music teacher who had a piano in his Riverdale apartment in The Bronx. While the apartments in our hometown are not that small, a piano is a big piece of beautiful furniture to have in it. In order for his family to have the Baby Grand and the baby in the same place, the Aerosmith singer told Seth Meyers on Late Night that he slept under it when it was baby. That shelter lead to him learning his first language which is music. That most likely explains why he is so good at. If the first letters you hear are from someone tickling the ivories, it is definitely going to shape who you become. That is why he became the man that he is today.
And yes, this a gratuitous post because I squealed when I heard Tyler talk about her hometown. I know his first building oh so well, even though we grew up at different ends of the neighborhood.
Have you ever wondered why Seth Meyers got the Late Night gig over so many other people? Now we might know why thanks to his Writers. When the NBC late night host was reading positive affirmations that his Writers wrote about him, they revealed that he looks a lot like Ellen DeGeneres’ older sister. So I guess that is there was of saying he got the job because they wanted an Ellen type and that was the best they could do.
Joking! In all honesty he has proven in the last 2 years to be a really strong talk show host. I find that he has become the best political late night host and second behind Conan O’Brien for interviewing. I just wish NBC would do more to promote him because they really have a good host on their network that they seem to be ignoring.
Rami Malek was on Late Night yesterday and he told Seth Meyers a story about the first time that he saw a billboard with his face on it in Los Angeles. Mr Robot got so excited that he crashed his car into another one. Then he explained what happened next, “I got out of the car and I couldn’t stop staring at it (the billboard). And then the driver looked as well, put two and two together and then the back pain really set in.” So much so that she took his “first couple of paychecks.”
So to all the actors, who are going to see their faces on huge billboards for the first time, take this as lesson to pull over as soon as you see it. Unless you want to give your first few paychecks to you manager, agent, publicist and the person you accidentally hit who now suddenly knows who you are.
