Are Kenan Thompson and Chris Redd leaving SNL?
February 23rd, 2021 under Kenan Thompson, NBC, Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: 2 ]

Last week, Kenan Thompson’s NBC show debuted to really good numbers? So does that mean that he and his Saturday Night Live and Kenan co-star Chris Redd are ready to leave New York for Hollywood full time?

“I think we are living in a different time. There used to be a time when people would leave the show and go into their careers,” Kenan said at the NBC TCA Winter Press Day. “But I’m of the same kind of thinking, basically, where I think you can, kind of, do both as long as you can, and then the departure comes in a natural sort of way. Then so be it or whatever.”

Redd agreed, “Well, not much goes into it because I haven’t decided to leave either. So, I’m just having fun being able to create with one of my best friends and also be able to still go and do sketch, and I love sketch. So, I don’t really see it as an exit strategy. I just, kind of, see it as another way to create. So that’s the best answer I think I can give you.”

I say this is great news. SNL can lose a lot of their Not-Ready-For-Primetime-Players, but they cannot afford to lose the two that are working in primetime.

Now, let’s talk about their primetime show that airs Tuesdays at 8:30p. If you are not watching Kenan, then you are missing out on the funniest new comedy of the year. Kenan deserves all the success he gets, and this is a sitcom that is worthy of him.

John Krasinski cheats on Pam with Pete Davidson
January 31st, 2021 under John Krasinski, Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: none ]

Even though The Office ended in 2013, fans of the show still want to see Jim and Pam together. Therefore, yesterday when John Krasinski was hosting Saturday Night Live, they asked to see him with Pam. Since she wasn’t there, he kissed the person standing next to him. That person was Pete Davidson.

What a kiss that was? I wonder how Davidson’s BFF Machine Gun Kelly, who was the musical guest, felt about that. Oh yeah, he is dating Megan Fox, the singer doesn’t care.

Jim Carrey resigns as Joe Biden
December 20th, 2020 under Jim Carrey, Politics, Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: none ]

Jim Carrey did something Donald Trump should do, and that is resign as President of the United States.

“Though my term was only meant to be 6 weeks, I was thrilled to be elected as your SNL President…comedy’s highest call of duty,” Carey wrote. “I would love to go forward knowing that Biden was the victor because I nailed that shit. But I am just one in a long line of proud, fighting SNL Bidens!”

Saturday Night Live’s Alex Moffat played him yesterday on the show. No word if he will continue on in the role.

Who do you think should take over as the POTUS after Biden takes over the role as POTUS? I think it should go to Steve Martin.

Alec Baldwin says goodbye to playing Donald Trump
November 8th, 2020 under Alec Baldwin, Donald Trump, Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: none ]

Now that Donald Trump lost the election, Alec Baldwin is finally done playing him on Saturday Night Live. Yesterday, after filming his final episode, he wrote on social media, “It’s been fun. And thanks for watching.”

I am sure he is going to miss playing “our favorite president.” That sentence is as full of truths as the ones that come out of the sore loser’s mouth every time he speaks.

Kate McKinnon broke on Saturday Night Live
October 11th, 2020 under Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: none ]

Kate McKinnon is really good at staying in character, but yesterday she lost it on Saturday Night Live. While doing a segment during Weekend Update, she just broke. Colin Jost had to stop and ask if she is OK. She said, “I am obviously not.”

She then went on to explain that she created this character to cope with all of the uncertainty with the election and COVID-19. Something we can all relate to these days.
