The Masked Singer aired its season finale tonight, and Gretchen Wilson is this season’s winner.
However, that is not the story. For the first time since the mysterious celebrity singing competition began unmasking celebs in 2019, it will not be airing in the Fall. Instead, it will return in 2026.
The news is not surprising because it went from being one of the most-watched shows to “It is still on?”
It was. And it will be interesting to see if they are going to change up the judges. The only change that has happened since season 1 is that Nicole Scherzinger left for Sunset Boulevard and Rita Ora took her seat. If I were Fox, I would definitely replace Jenny McCarthy and one of the men, Robin Thicke or Ken Jeong.
Rita Ora and her husband, Taika Waititi, are very busy these days. So, they don’t get to spend a lot of time together.
However, the director found a way. But would his wife know that it is him? She did not.
Granted, how was she supposed to know it was her husband in the Lucky Duck costume on The Masked Singer?
It is too bad that Mr. Ora didn’t let his wife and the other panelists, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy, try to guess who was under the costume before revealing himself. Because it would have been more fun if she hadn’t guessed it was him.
Waititi is not the only spouse to hide his identity under a fabric suit. McCarthy’s husband, Donnie Wahlberg, also appeared as a contestant on the celebrity singing competition.
Nicole Scherzinger was a panelist on The Masked Singer for 10 seasons. But then she took a season off to star in Sunset Blvd on the West End. However, that musical ended its run in London.
Since she was taking a hiatus, Rita Ora was asked to fill her seat.
So, who will be sitting next to Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarty this season? Ora will be back to guess which singer is under the mask on the Fox singing competition when it returns on September 29th.
And Scherzinger will be on Broadway with Sunset Blvd. Therefore, it is a win-win for everyone.
Kelly Rowland was supposed to host the fourth hour of Today with Hoda Kotb on Thursday but walked out on the show at the last minute because the dressing was too small for her liking.
So Page Six says the producers ran around 30 Rock to try to find her a bigger dressing room, but they couldn’t find one. And she thought she was too good for the only one they had. So she left the studio and the show in a lurch.
What to do? They asked Rita Ora who was going to be a guest, and she said yes. And as you can tell from different clips from the episode, the singer enjoyed every second. And didn’t mind the last-minute mask.
So Rowland missed out on the fun. Her loss was definitely Today’s gain.
Hopefully, Rowland will realize that she is a C-Lister now. She is like Nick Lachey and Joey Fatone. Without the band, you really are only good for Reality Shows and crappy movies.
Rita Ora decided to change up her appearance, and it was the right thing to do. The singer cut off several inches of her hair for a layered bob and it highlights her gorgeous face in a different way than her long hair did.
She is gorgeous either way. But this cut really accentuates her natural beauty.
