Tori & Dean move back to Home Sweet Hollywood tonight!
June 17th, 2008 under Aaron/Candy/Tori Spelling, Reviews. [ Comments: none ]

Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood premieres on Oxygen tonight at 10p and just from what I have seen this is the best season yet!
This season is about Tori, Dean and Liam and not about the Inn. Not that I am saying the last two seasons were a bad thing, but we are finally getting to know the real Tori and Dean. The first episodes deal with her book coming out and the struggles she had with her mom. Something that was not really explained until now. It also shows a much more relaxed pregnant Tori dealing with her second pregnancy and trying to be a different mother than her own. Dean on the other hand is trying to get his acting career back on track. They also take us inside their lives and dealing with the paparazzi and how and why she hid her pregnancy. This season is much more heart felt.
The one thing that did not change is we get to see how much Tori and Dean McDermott love each other and their relationship gives me hope love can be sweet and out there!
So tune into Oxygen tonight at 10p to watch the best season of Tori and Dean as they return to Home Sweet Hollywood!!!

Get scared by Fear Itself on NBC tonight!
June 5th, 2008 under NBC, Reviews. [ Comments: 1 ]

Fear Itself” is a provocative, new 13-episode suspense and horror anthology series set to push the boundaries of this classic genre through a host of provocative talent, both in front of and behind the camera, including award-winning, sought-after directors John Landis (“An American Werewolf in London”), Darren Bousman (“Saw II, III and IV”) and Ronny Yu (“Bride of Chucky”); actors Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”), Shiri Appleby (“Charlie Wilson’s War”), Elisabeth Moss (“Mad Men”), Cynthia Watros (“Lost”), Eric Roberts (NBC’s “Heroes”) and John Billingsley (“Star Trek: Enterprise”); and writers, including Joe Gangemi (“Wind Chill,” the novel “Inamorata”), Steve Niles (“30 Days of Night”) and Dan Knauf (“Carnivàle,” “Supernatural”).

When I first read about NBC’s Fear Itself, I couldn’t wait to see the show because I am such a horror lover and all. But I have to admit I was kind scared that it might be as horrible as Showtime’s Masters of Horror. Unlike MoH, this show is scary, suspenseful and I was able to get through every episode without wishing I was one of the victims being killed off in the episode. In fact not only is Fear Itself better than MoH it is better than most of the horror movies I have seen recently.
Tonight’s episode is Sacrifice and I could not believe how good it was and the fact that they got all that into a one hour show! Seriously maybe movies should only be an hour if that is what will make them good again. I mean Sacrifice had everything and unlike most horror movies these days it wasn’t predictable. In fact none of the Fear Itself episodes are. My favorite episode thus far is Family Man because at first you think you know exactly how it is going to end, but the ending has a twist you never see coming and have never seen before.
With Supernatural on a summer break and evil CBS canceling Moonlight, Fear Itself fills a void that we all need! So make sure to experience Fear Itself Thursdays at 10p on NBC, it is frightening how good this show is!
BTW doesn’t the theme song remind you of a song you would hear at an orthodox Jewish affair!
UPDATE: For those of you who are wondering about who did the theme song, it is Serj Tankian’s Lie Lie Lie!

Bring a date or two to Swingtown tonight on CBS!!!
June 5th, 2008 under CBS, Reviews. [ Comments: none ]

After seeing the pilot, I want to move to Swingtown now!!! This show is sexy, fun and making me wish I was in the ’70s! It is has sex, drugs and disco and did I mention sex! We all thought the ’60s brought about the sexual awakening, but what we learn from Swingtown it was really the ’70s that awakened our innermost desires. Seriously I never thought I would want to swing, but this show showed me I need a boyfriend now just so I can swing.
Besides the inside look at the Swinging ’70s we also get a show about relationships and teen angst. Whether it is 1976 or 2008 those things never change and this show handles that well.
When I heard about this show, I thought it was going to suck (no pun) but I was so wrong, because I am hooked on this show like the characters are hooked on cocaine and quaaludes
The weather is starting to heat up on the inside, but the thermometer is rising on our TV sets every Thursday at 10p with Swingtown! Burn baby Burb, Disco Inferno.
BTW for those of us who missed out on the ’70s, here are some of the artifacts we missed out on…

She’s Got the Look is worth a look!!!
June 4th, 2008 under Reviews, TV Land. [ Comments: none ]

Gorgeous women 35-and-over will grace TV Land primetime in a new modeling competition series like no other. For one very lucky winner, a second chance for a supermodel career, a life changing contract with the world famous Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, and a spread in Self magazine awaits. Watch the nationwide search, follow the drama as the number of contestants dwindles, and root for your favorite to win it all. In June 2008, TV Land launches a new show that is proof positive that the power years are truly beautiful.

She’s Got the Look premieres on TV Land tonight at 10p and it is everything that America’s Next Top Model should be!
Tonight’s premiere episode is the casting episode and it is much quicker and not as catty and bitchy as ANTM! About midway through the episode the girls are narrowed down to 20 and then down again to the final 10! These woman are range in age from their mid-30’s to their 60’s. They are mothers, grandmothers, single, divorced and even one former model. There is a woman that we can all relate to.
Next week’s episode cuts to the chase, as in they get their makeovers and do their photoshoots nude. And the mandatory psycho-like bitch that is required for all reality show emerges. Will she survive to the third episode.
There is something about the reality shows on TV Land that I like so much more than the other nets. I think because they are just not as cruel as the others. I mean Tyra and the Js going off on the models been old season 2.
So for a refreshing show this summer with real women tune into She’s Got the Look on TV Land Wednesdays at 10p for women who do have the look!!!

Take a ride on Final Approach tonight on Hallmark!
May 24th, 2008 under Hallmark, Reviews, Tracey Gold. [ Comments: 1 ]

Months after a former FBI hostage rescue team leader Jack Bender is unceremoniously fired from the Bureau for not being a team player, he finds himself embroiled in the ultimate hostage nightmare: stuck aboard a plane that’s been taken over by a group of well-armed terrorists who threaten to detonate a nuclear weapon unless they receive a billion dollars. The clock is ticking…

Final Approach is one of the most suspenseful movies I have seen in while! There is so much of this movie that you are like it is way over the top, but it works unlike other movies that try the same thing.
It stars Dean Cain as the good guy and Anthony Michael Hall as the bad guy along with Tracey Gold as a reporter on the hijacked place, Scott Reeves (looking good with longer hair) as passenger, Lea Thompson as Cain’s wife and Ernie Hudson as the trigger happy FBI agent.
I don’t want to go into to much detail of the this movie because so much is happening, I don’t want to give it away. You will never guess what is happening next! The acting is great, the speed of the movie is like an adrenaline rush and the story is perfect.
So tune into part one of the movie that will hijack you for part two on Hallmark tonight at 8p!
