The Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man together again!
June 1st, 2017 under 70s, Reunions. [ Comments: none ]

Back in the mid-’70s, people were in love with The Six Million Dollar Man and its spinoff The Bionic Woman. So much so, Lindsay Wagner and Lee Majors reprised their roles for a 1987 telemovie. Now 30 years after that reunion, they are reuniting once again for another project. We don’t know what it is because this is all Jamie Sommers told us is, “Filming a new family feel-good movie this week on the west coast of Canada with #LeeMajors.”

Too bad it is not another Bionic movie because they could easily play Sommers and Steve Austin again without any problems. They both have aged wonderfully! Maybe they got some bionic work done on them when they were filming their series and that is why they look so young?

BTW The Six Million Dollar Man sounds so cheap now. You cannot get a Bionic Man for that amount of money. Maybe a bionic arm or leg, but that is about all. He would have to be The Six Billion Dollar Man with inflation to make it in 2017. Right?

UPDATE: It looks like we have a name for the movie and it is Countdown to Love directed by Christie Will.

The cast of The Love Boat reunites!
May 23rd, 2017 under Jill Whelan, Reunions, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

It has been 40 years since The Love Boat set sail, 30 years since it took its last voyage, and today the six leads got together to talk about their beloved show on Today. Captain Stubing (Gavin MacLeod), Vicki (Jill Whelan), Julie (Lauren Tewes), Doc (Bernie Kopell), Gopher (Fred Grandy) and Isaac (Ted Lange) climbed aboard and reminisced about the days on the cruise ship.

Even though that have been on dry land for 3 decades, they still get together all the time. To me when a cast still keeps in touch after so many years even decades after their show ended, it explains why their shows still air in syndication. It is that chemistry that makes the a special show even more special.

This show was so special that actors and musicians begged to be on it. Celebrities like Aretha Franklin, but no one believed Lange when he would tell them that.

Did they know the show was going to be a hit from the beginning? Nope, even the network thought it wasn’t going to get passed the pilot phase. The head honchos thought San Pedro Beach Bums was going to be the biggest show and it never made it to air.

Back in 1977, it was all about cop shows and sitcoms, and The Love Boat was different. MacLeod explained how legendary producer Aaron Spelling made it different than the others. He revealed what were the three storylines were they tackled every week, “We had a sophisticated comedies, we had our broad funny one and a poignant one.” Then he added,”They were touched and they were happy endings.”

What also set this show apart from the rest, they really traveled the World.

There was nothing like The Love Boat back then and nothing like it now. Something I think we are desperately missing. A show about happy endings during difficult times. Yes it was on UPN for a season and I think it needs to be brought back again. More than a show like American Idol. What do you think?

Is the Revenge cast planning a revenge?
May 15th, 2017 under Reunions. [ Comments: none ]

Days after Revenge costars Emily VanCamp and Joshua Bowman announced their engagement, the actress seemed more interested in another castmate at their birthday reunion. Emily was photographed kissing her TV BFF Ashley Madekwe as her finacé, Gabriel Mann, Barry Sloane and Connor Paolo watched. Maybe if there was more action like that on the drama, it would still be on the air. On that note, maybe they can bring it back with just the younger generation.

Sorry, I stopped watching, so I don’t remember who survived the series finale and who didn’t. But doesn’t mean, I don’t want to see it back on he air.

It’s Love Boat’s Captain Stubing and his daughter Vicki!
May 4th, 2017 under 70s, Jill Whelan, Reunions. [ Comments: 2 ]

It has been 40 years since The Love Boat set sail and the ship’s captain and his daughter did press to honor the milestone. Here is Gavin MacLeod and Jill Whelan waiting to talk to some reporters.

Nice to see the actors still look like a real father and daughter after 4 decades. Which I can’t believe it has been that long. Even harder to believe he is 86 and she is 50 because they both look like they could still be the King and Princess of any cruise.

BTW my dad looks forward to watching this show every Sunday on Me TV. I am surprised with all the reboots, they haven’t brought this show back again. MacLeod and Whelan could reprise their roles and I bet it would be a hit! Great way to showcase network stars like this show did in the ’70s and ’80s.

Ayyyy! The Happy Days gang sit on it for Erin Moran!
May 3rd, 2017 under Marion Ross, Reunions. [ Comments: none ]

via People
On April 22nd, Erin Moran passed away from 4th stage cancer and yesterday her Happy Days co-stars got together to remember her at Cathy Silvers’ house. Jenny Piccollo had Joanie’s brother Richie aka Ron Howard, her crush Potsie aka Anson Williams, her mom Marion Ross, her friend Ralph Malph aka Donny Most and her husband Chachi aka Scott Baio over to celebrate their friends’ life.

Proving that this show has a bond that went above and beyond their filming days. They are still friends even though the show ended almost a third of a century ago. That chemistry is why we are still watching after all of these decades. Just like them, it never gets old.

This isn’t the first time that Silvers’ honored her friend, last week she had Bewitched’s Erin Murphy and The Brady Bunch’s Susan Olsen over to talk about the late actress.

These friendships show us just how special Erin Moran was to all of these people even after all of these years. She was as special to them as she was to us growing up and watching our favorite little sister grow up during Happy Days!
