Phil Collins returned to touring this week after a decade off and some major back surgery, and this morning he had an incident after last night’s performance that made him cancel his next two concerts. His people explained what happened Facebook.
We unfortunately have to announce that Phil Collins’ performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London will be postponed tonight (June 8) and tomorrow (June 9). Phil suffers from ‘drop foot’ as a result of a back operation which makes it difficult to walk. He rose in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and slipped in his hotel room, hitting his head in the fall on a chair. He was taken to hospital where he had stitches for a severe gash on his head close to his eye and is recovering well. He will be kept under observation for 24 hours.
Phil sends his sincere apologies and thanks to fans. He has had a fantastic week at his first shows in 10 years, cannot thank people enough for their warm reaction and is excited to return.
These Royal Albert Hall shows will be rearranged for November 26th and 27th this year. All tickets for June 8th will be valid for November 26th and tickets for June 9th will be valid for November 27th.
He will carry on with this tour on Sunday in Cologne and then Paris before returning to London for his headline performance at BST Hyde Park on June 30th.
Hopefully, he will be better soon because his fans love seeing him rock the house with his mesmerizing voice.
For decades there has been an old lyricist’s tale of what In The Air Tonight is about, and the other night Phil Collins told Jimmy Fallon what it is truly about.
If you are like me, you have heard a something along the version that either the Genesis singer saw someone drown by the hands of a murderer and didn’t do anything or that his brother was died by drowning and no one saved him. Is it one of those scenarios?`
It is not, he revealed on The Tonight Show, “I was just pissed off, you know, I was angry.” The NBC host wanted to know what made him angry. The drummer told him, “You go through a divorce and sometimes it is like ‘Please, I love you, I love you, I love you…Don’t hang up. Don’t hang up’ And then it is like well, ‘F you!’ And then of course that is when a song like In The Air Tonight comes out. There is obviously a lot of anger in there.”
The anger I got, the going through a fight with an ex-wife I didn’t. I think I will stick with the original theories, especially after listening him perform the song with The Roots on the show.
Which story behind the song have you heard? Which one are going with? Do you wish you didn’t know truth? Just like when someone told you that The Vapors’ Turning Japanese is not about masturbation. That one still pissed me off.

Phil Collins paid his ex-wife a few million more than Paul McCartney paid out to Heather Mills in his divorce settlement, making it the highest divorce payout by a British superstar in British history according to Sunday Mirror. Phil Collin's reportedly gave his third wife a £25 million ($50 million US) payout.
A music industry source said: "Marriage has certainly not come cheap for Phil. He has now made two of the biggest divorce payments in showbiz history.
"At least no one can accuse him of leaving his ex-wives short. When you compare what he's paid out relative to his own fortune the figures are enormous."
Dang who knew he was such a generous ex-husband! Now I want to marry him, just for the divorce settlement!!!
