Is Oprah Winfrey giving up her syndicated talk show to save her cable network OWN? According to Nikki Finke, “the Discovery Communications chief David Zaslav has demanded that Oprah ‘move it or lose it’ — move her talk show to OWN, or risk losing the Oprah Winfrey Network altogether.” She added that she will make an announcement in the near future that she will be ending her show in 2011 and move it to her OWN cable network. She also said that Oprah was suppose to tell the head of CBS last month her decision whether or not she was going to renew her show, but has cancelled all of their meetings. If she decides to cancel her syndicated show it will be a big loss to CBS Television Distribution because it is the #1 syndicated program and will hurt them financially.
Personally I wouldn’t miss her because I never got her show or her popularity, but I know I am in the minority. Would you miss her show if it were just on cable?
First @AndyMilokanis posted that if he gets 100,000 followers on Twitter by June 1st he would get a big tattoo of Oprah Winfrey! Then Weird @AlYankovich decided to one up by saying if he gets 20 million followers by that same date he would get give Oprah Winfrey a tattoo of Andy Milonakis!!! No word yet from @Oprah about the tattoos and I am not expecting one!
We so have to help Weird Al reach that impossible goal, it is doable right? OK, while his might not be doable, Andy's is. Right now he has about 19,000 followers, so let's get him to 100,000 to see if really will get that picture of Oprah tattooed on his arm!
Ellen DeGeneres has been campaigning (begging) on her show to join Oprah Winfrey on the cover of her magazine O! Today on the show Oprah surprised her and told her that she would love to have Ellen on the cover with her!!! I just love Ellen, her reaction was so real just like her!!!
So after seeing the below video it is obvious why Oprah just couldn’t say no to her!!!
Today on Oprah she debuted America’s Song written by will.i.am and David Foster sung by Faith Hill, Mary J. Blige, Seal and Bono in honor of Barack Obama taking Presidency.
I don’t know what it is, but something about David Foster’s touch on almost any song makes it cheesey to me. I was just waiting for Celine Dion or Josh Groban to bust out a line or two. What did you guys think of the song?
Broadcasting and Cable is reporting that Oprah Winfrey has signed a multiyear deal to produce scripted programming for the network. Potential projects include series, miniseries, movies and documentaries. In other words we can have O and the City, The Winfreys, In Treatment with Oprah and Curb Your Metabolism. Seriously she has her OWN network, what more does she need? I know it is Oprah, she won't be happy until she has it all….
