Back when Oliver Hudson was a teenager, he and his friends were in a hip hop dance crew. While that is awesome enough, wait until you hear the name he told Jimmy Kimmel they battled under.
They were known as the Rice Krispies. It gets better, their nicknames were Snap, Crackle and Pop. He did not say which one was his, so I am going to say Crackle because he crackles me up!
Now that we know he can do hip hop, there has to be a way for them to incorporate that talent on Splitting Up Together.
Jenna Fischer, Oliver Hudson, Dean Holland, Lindsay Prince and Bobby Lee saw some red lockers and they knew what they had to do. The cast of Splitting Up Together had to recreate the poses that the cast of The Breakfast Club made over 30 years ago.
How did they do? Even Assistant Principal Vernon would excuse them from detention.
Hopefully tonight at 9:30p on ABC, there will be two hits. Them hitting the airwaves, and then them being a hit!
And can we talk about how Oliver Hudson is so a John Bender? Actually, they are all like the characters they chose to pose as.
Any man can tell you he loves to get hugs from his kid until they are tall enough to reach his waist. That is because they are that perfect height to headbutt your little head. We’ve all seen it, that awwwwdorable toddler running full force towards her dad and him hoping to arch himself in just enough time not to have any impact with his baby makers.
Well, Fridababy has come up with a solution to that problem and that is FridaBalls. It is an underwear with Heirloom Conservation Technology. In other words, padding to protect your boys. Don’t know what to get the dads in your life for Father’s Day? Now you know! Not only does it protect his hotdog and buns, it also makes them look like they are the size of a baseball bat and basketballs in his pants. What more does he need? The only negative is that it will make America’s Funniest Videos a lot less funny without all of those ball hitting balls videos.
Does FridaBalls work? Just ask Oliver Hudson who tried them on for size and protection. His 4-year-old daughter ran right into his precious jewels and he barely flinched. He even says it did not hurt a bit. The actor even came up with his own catchphrase for them and it is “It is nuts not to protect your nuts.” He is 100% right.
Even though the sadist me is sad to miss all of those painfully hilarious moments. I used to love asking my friend’s kids to give daddy a big running hug and now it will not be the same because guess what I am getting him for Father’s Day. Wait he is not my dad! Screw that, let the good times roll! And I when I say roll, I mean his 4-year-old, like Hudson’s, is that perfect height and speed for ultimate impact!
For those of you who care about that special dad in your life, then get him FridaBalls. If you are like me, then tell his kids to show him how much they love him with a huge unsuspecting hug!
Oliver Hudson was on The Ladygang podcast and he told them about a huge role he was up for a few years ago. Milo Ventimiglia and him both auditioned to play Jack Pearson on This Is Us and we know which one got it. There is an interesting story why he is not playing the role that makes us cry every week.
After a successful audition, Hudson was asked to come back and do a chemistry reading with Mandy Moore; but he had a 10-day fishing period at the same time. He opted to the do the latter and we all know what happened next. Does he regret his decision? “And then, of course, it premiered massive and I’m like, ‘Oh s#*t, ok.’”
As they tell us, ladies, whenever we break up with a guy, there are plenty of fish in the sea. He too should have followed those words of wisdom and postponed his trip. Fish will always be there, but a good role will not be.
At least he has Splitting Up Together.
When it comes to how he would have been as the patriarch on the show, as much as I adore him, I cannot picture anyone but Ventimiglia as Jack. Can you?
Last week, Splitting Up Together did great in the ratings for its debut because it aired a show after Roseanne. This week, it is airing two shows after Roseanne, so Oliver Hudson really wants you to check out his sitcom again.
Therefore, he sat in his car and recorded a special message imploring you to watch. Not for him or his costar Jenna Fischer, but for mankind and world peace. How can you turn him down after that? You cannot, so watch it tonight and every Tuesday at 9:30p. It keeps getting funnier!
