Matt Bomer and Sean Hayes’ dirty faces
January 31st, 2020 under Ellen DeGeneres, Matt Bomer, Sean Hayes. [ Comments: none ]

Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t work on Fridays anymore. Therefore, Sean Hayes filled in for her on today’s show, and Matt Bomer, who plays his BFF’s ex-fiance’ on Will & Grace, was his guest.

The two of them played a game called Taste Buds. It is simple, the two hunky men are blindfolded, with their hands behind their backs, and they have to guess what the food is on the plate. Since they can’t see where the plate is, someone has to guide their faces down into it.

For Hayes’ first try, he got whipped cream, and that left the white stuff on his face. Bomer had the same problem with hummus. The next samples were solids, and they got stuck on what was ever left on their face. That, in turn, made the pretty mugs, not as handsome.

The game was boring, but their faces were funny covered with food. It would have been even funnier if the helpers really smashed their faces into the food instead of gently placing them down. I am sure that is not the first time Hayes has had a creamy substance all over his face. He seems like a pie in your face type of guy. Where did you think I was going with creamy substance?

Doom Patrol is not doomed!
July 22nd, 2019 under Brendan Fraser, DC Comics, Kaley Cuoco, Matt Bomer. [ Comments: none ]

It was a busy weekend for DC Universe and they gave us plenty to be excited about.

First off, the news that made me the happiest, Doom Patrol will be back for a second season next year. Not only will it stream on DC Universe, but you will also be able to watch it on their new service HBO Max with the Gossip Girl spinoff. When it comes to our favorite anti-heroes, how can you not love a superhero show that has sex, cursing and a mass orgasm? The only thing I don’t want back next season is the huge cockroach. If they do bring him back then they need to do me a positive and give us more Matt Bomer topless scenes! Did I mention that he and Brendan Fraser are in it? It truly is the perfect show.

That was the only big story to come out from them at San Diego Comic-Com. Titans, the show Doom Patrol spun off of, will debut new episodes starting on September 26th. Young Justice: Outsiders will be back for a fourth season.

Finally, Harley Quinn gets animated and the cartoon, that stars Kaley Cuoco in the title character, is not for kids. A cartoon just for us also debuts this fall!

Doom Patrol tells us Crazy Jane’s story and how she has a part in the Rapture!
March 15th, 2019 under Brendan Fraser, DC Comics, Matt Bomer. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, when we left off of Doom Patrol it was literally the end of the World. Today, the episode, streaming now on DC Universe, picks up with Rapture making people disappear.

That is not the only story in the fifth episode. We also learn more about Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) and her time in the institution. They tortured her, but they could not break her. While they tried their hardest to do just that, they wound up creating a new personality for her. One that plays a part in the current apocalypse.

I cannot tell you much more, but I can tell you Disco also plays a part in it too. Who knew that was the Devil’s music and not heavy metal?

Another big part of this episode is The Captain (Timothy Dalton) is back. How will Doom Patrol react to his reappearance? One of them will walk out and another will turn on him.

However, they have a much bigger problem. You know, like the end of the World. Can these dysfunctional superheroes save the day?

A fun feature integrated into this episode is that the writers are starting to have a lot more fun and referencing the show itself. That is what makes this series so enjoyable to watch, they understand you cannot take a show with superheroes who are misfits too seriously. If you do, then it would be like almost all the other comic book movies and shows. Those are boring, DP is exciting. Plus, they use the S and F words! What more do you need to watch? Therefore, go to the streaming site and subscribe. Did I mention Matt Bomer and Brendan Fraser are also part of the patrol?

Watch Matt Bomer transform into his Doom Patrol unwrapped persona
March 8th, 2019 under DC Comics, Matt Bomer. [ Comments: 1 ]

Matt Bomer plays Mr. Negative on DC Universe’s Doom Patrol. His character flew into negative energy and that caused him to crash his plane. The plane caught fire with him in it and he was left with burns on his body from his head down to his toes.

On last Friday’s episode, we got to see what he looked like shortly after the crash and before he covered his whole body up with bandages like a mummy or the Invisible Man. Let’s just say it was not a pretty site for the pretty actor.

How do you make such an attractive man, unattractive? He showed us in a time-lapse video what the makeup department had to do to achieve that transformation. It looks easy in a short video, but in reality, it was not.

Bomer wrote this message with the video, “Wanted to give a special shoutout to the incredible effects makeup team on @doompatroldcu. This takes anywhere from 4 to 5 hours and I actually look forward to spending the time with this team- they’re that fun. Thank you #travispates #billjohnson #toddwatson #derekgarcia #donanddebra and everyone else who helped out this season.”

Then the actor wanted to let us know that there is a new episode of the show up now on the streaming site. There is a reason why they are called Doom Patrol and this episode sets that up with when two new people crash their compound.

If you are not watching Doom Patrol, then you are missing out on the best new superhero show since Smallville. It is for us adults who want superheroes to do adult things if you know what I mean.

I have seen a lot of critics compare this to Umbrella Academy, and Doom Patrol is so much better. I did not even make it to episode four of the Netflix show. When it comes to the latter, I cannot wait to watch the next episode. Why do we have to wait a week?

Can Doom Patrol survive a road trip?
March 1st, 2019 under DC Comics, Matt Bomer. [ Comments: none ]

The third episode of Doom Patrol is up on DC Universe and it is a positive one. I say that because we get Negative Man’s back story. We find out what Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer) was like before he was taken over by negative energy and what it was like when it ruined his life.

Before we get to that, Doom Patrol gets a tip that Chief (Timothy Dalton) is in Paraguay. Therefore, Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby), Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Cyborg (Joivan Wade) and Negative Man get on the school bus and embark on a road trip. As we remember, the last time they went on one, a whole city was destroyed and its inhabitants died. Will this trip go better?

This time, it is them in trouble after the negative energy gets out of Trainor and causes their bus to break down. That is when his back story starts the night before that fateful fight. He is in the back of his truck making out with his lover (Kyle Clements) and he gives Trainor an ultimatum. Trainor doesn’t take it and goes back to his wife (Julie McNiven) and sons.

Then as the episode goes on, we find out what happened after his plane crashed leaving him severely burned all over his body. We see how after being left with disfiguring burns changed him and made him the Negative Man he became

Back to our Patrol, they finally make it to Paraguay and Nazi man’s puppet show. Is Chief there? What happens when they confront him? You do not want to miss it.

I went from watching Matt Bomer on Will & Grace to him in this episode, and how he has not gotten an Emmy is beyond me. He can so effortlessly go from comedy to drama, it leaves me in awe as I watch him. Very few actors can do it as well as him.

Plus, I enjoy everyone else on this show. I love watching superheroes curse and not be perfect. That is why I get such a kick out Doom Patrol. You can tell they are having as much fun making it as we do watching it.
