Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda take over for Ellen

Ellen DeGeneres has tomorrow off from her 9-5, so Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are filling in for her. How did they do? According to Fonda, her co-star “sucked.” Why? Fonda told her, “You need hearing aids and glasses. Half the time, you couldn’t see what was up there.”

To see if she really sucked, and for lots and lots of laughs, then tune to watch! I will be watching because those two are always hilarious together. They are hysterical when Dolly Parton joins in.

BTW I have been saying for a while that Tomlin and Fonda should host a talk show together. Tomorrow we will find out if I am right.

Kathy Griffin is engaged and married

Kathy Griffin started off 2020 in a knot as in tying it. The actress married her boyfriend, Randy Bick, and Lily Tomlin officiated the ceremony. Since you need a witness Tomlin’s wife, Jane Wagner served as that and a heckler. Because that is what every comedian needs at their nuptials.

According to People, the couple started dating in 2011 and have found a way to make their 8-year age difference work. Can you guess who is older?

Good thing Griffin does not have that NYE job anymore. If she did, then she would not have gotten married today. At least not at midnight.

F*ck! Grace and Frankie is cuming to an end!
September 4th, 2019 under Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin. [ Comments: 1 ]

Netflix announced today that they picked up Grace and Frankie for a seventh season even before the sixth one airs. That is the good news. The bad news is that it will be its last one.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin had this to say about their show ending, “We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well!” Then they added, “We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around.” Which is good news to hear because Tomlin just turned 80 and Fonda is a year older.

However, they do not look anywhere near their ages. I guess all of that pot, yam lube and vibrators is their secret! I would not mind growing old with those things. Who would?

It is references like that that will make me miss this show. I wish it did not have to end, but at least we have two more seasons.

How can you have a Laugh-In special without Goldie Hawn?
May 9th, 2019 under Goldie Hawn, Lily Tomlin, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Before Goldie Hawn won an Oscar, she was on the variety show Laugh-In. The late ’60s and early ’70s weekly comedy show had people laughing until hurt, and she was one of their brightest stars.

Therefore, you would think that Netflix would have included her in their special Still LAUGH-IN: The Stars Celebrate. However, for some reason, she is not there. While Dick Martin and Dan Rowan have a good excuse for not being part of it (they are no longer with us), there is no excuse for her not being part of it.

While she is not in to laugh, Lily Tomlin, Ruth Buzzi and JoAnne Worley will be. They will be joined by a bunch of people who were born or not even born when it originally aired. People like Neil Patrick Harris, Tiffany Haddish, Chelsea Handler, Taye Diggs, Maria Bamford, Margaret Cho, Ron Funches, Nikki Glaser, Lisa Ann Walter, Mary McCormack, Bobby Moynihan, Cheri Oteri, Rob Riggle, Jeff Ross, Tony Hale and Natasha Leggero.

I wish the networks would bring back variety shows like this and the other ones from the ’60s and ’70s. I used to love watching them in syndication when I was growing up. They taught me how to laugh and we need more laughter in the world.

I can watch Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda talking for hours
January 22nd, 2019 under Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin. [ Comments: none ]

Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda sat down for Wired and answered the Web’s Most Searched Questions. We did not learn anything new about them, just that they are so good at playing off of each other. I love Grace & Frankie and I know it has another season after this upcoming one. But I wish Netflix would give them a show where they just answer our questions. I would binge that over and over again.
