We know a lot about Kelly Clarkson, but did you know she likes to make quilts. As a parting gift to her Voice coaches, she made them each one.
The American Idol described her inspiration for each as, “@blakeshelton was inspired by denim & blues, @adamlevine is rock & roll attire & @aliciakeys is purples & family 😊 love y’all!” But she also warned, “Yaaaassss! #quiltingismyjam ….but don’t look 2 closely because it sort of looks like a high school home economics project 🤣#madewithlovenotperfection.” To me, they are perfect because they are made from the heart!
What did Blake Shelton think of his? He wrote, “NEVER has a voice coach hand made me a gift!!! Thank you Kelly Clarkson!!!” Then he added, “I didn’t want Adam in my picture… What an absolute dickhead.” I love his bromance with Adam Levine as much as I love Clarkson’s quilts. The only negative thing about them, is we have no need for them in Los Angeles! And yet I still want one.
You know Kelly, if this singing thing does not work out, you totally be a quilt maker. I bet you Bed, Bath and Beyond, HSN or QVC would totally invest in Clarkson’s Piece by Piece.

Yesterday was the first time, The Voice went head-to-head with ABC’s American Idol and only one was ratings winner. The NBC singing competition was watched by 11,720,000 people, while the ABC one was seen by only 8,360,000. Not only that, The Voice also beat it in the demo by .5, 2.3 as compared to 1.8. Even Dancing with the Stars does better and is closer to its competition numbers.
This has to be so scary for ABC because not only did Idol get beat, it also lost 2 million viewers in its second airing. It can only be downhill from here. Their experiment looks like a big failure, but let’s give it another week.
Now to the headline, The Voice made a major coop when they hired Kelly Clarkson, AI’s first winner. A risk that proved to be a really smart move. Not only did it see a rise in ratings from last week, it also gave us this sweet moment. Stephanie Skipper sang Clarkson’s emotional number Piece by Piece and caused the singer to start crying. Even though she did not turn around, she still praised the crap out the performance that was amazing.
The new Idol can only dream of having a moment like this (no pun intended). The three judges on AI are too stiff and rehearsed to let go like Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. That is what people want. Realness, playfulness and spunk!
When it comes to me, I don’t watch either. But if I was going to watch one, it would be The Voice. Who doesn’t love Kelly?
Kelly Clarkson shared a video of her song I Don’t Think About You, and we know of one person she thinks about. That person is Meryl Streep. For some reason she has a cardboard cut out of the Oscar winner and it is making me ponder so many questions. Actually just one, why? Why do you think?
The other day Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood challenged Kelly Clarkson and Jimmy Kimmel to the #ALSPepperChallenge, and both of them did it.
Clarkson went first with a habanero, a pepper she never had before. She regretted that decision before she even took a bite and even more so after she did. She immediately felt the heat and started crying. She went to get some milk and the container was not opened beforehand (Something everyone should prepare for before they take a bite of the hot Pepper). Therefore, after she Twisted off the cap, that freaking hard to get off metal covering was still on there. But when your whole body is on fire, you rip it off like you are the Hulk. Only problem is that did not help. Ice Cubes did not help. Singing did not help. Nothing helped and it is even going to be worse when she goes to the bathroom later. Because you know that saying.
When she was able to finally get some words out, without feeling like a dragon on Game of Thrones, she challenged all of the coaches from The Voice to do it. I cannot wait to the Sexiest Men Alive trying to be sexy during it. That will not happen.
Then there is Jimmy Kimmel, who was brave enough to take a bite of a jalapeño, a chili and a habanero pepper and create a mashup of pepper juice and seeds in his mouth. With eat bite it got worse and worse, until he got the hiccups. Which makes that heat even worse. And also made his suffering even funnier to us.

American Idol made the decision to return to television after just a year off from television, and in that time two of its biggest stars signed with The Voice to be judges. Jennifer Hudson is doing this Fall and Kelly Clarkson will be on the Spring.
Since the first American Idol had not signed on to the NBC show before it was announced that the other singing competition was picked up by ABC, people wanted to know why she chose the way that she did. Ellen DeGeneres asked her about her decision and the singer told her that she was not expecting them to bring it back so soon. Then she explained she had already been in talks with The Voice before, but was not able to do it because she was either pregnant or touring. Plus, she had been on the NBC show several times because her husband manages Blake Shelton. When it comes to Idol she says, “I gave the 15 years. I was there every season.”
Let’s be real, American Idol’s loss is The Voice’s gain because who doesn’t love Kelly Clarkson?
