A year ago, Josh Groban made his Broadway debut in The Great Comet and this year, he will be hosting the Tony Awards with Sara Bareilles. The actress recently wrapped her run in Waitress and starred as Mary Magdalene in NBC’s live version of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Groban had this to say about the honor, “To be at the helm of a night celebrating the best of that theater with a person (Bareilles) I just laugh way too much with, is beyond words. But I will have words on Tony night! The best words! I look forward to flailing about in front of my peers. It will be with all the love and respect in the world for the room we’re lucky enough to be in.”
Nominations will be announced by Leslie Odom, Jr. and Katharine McPhee on May 1st and the Tonys will air on CBS June 10th.

Tony Danza is playing Josh Groban’s father on Netflix’s Good Cop. Yesterday, was their last day filming the cop drama and both men shared this photo. Now that we have seen the two of them together, they really look like father and son. They even have the same eyes. Don’t you think they look related?
Good Cop comes to the streaming service in the fall.

Is Josh Groban auditioning to be Lucy from Peanuts? |

Josh Groban was seen sitting behind a psychiatry stand like the one that Lucy van Pelt uses in the Peanuts comic strip; so is he auditioning for her part in the live-action version of the movie that is not coming out? Most likely not, but he did admit that he is “also a client.” I wonder what type of advice Lucy would give him? What would tell him to do if you were the psychiatrist-in-training?
If they do make the live-action Peanuts movie and he gets the part of Lucy, then maybe his dog can play Snoopy?

When did Josh Groban’s voice get that high pitched? |

When we think of Josh Groban’s voice, we think of it as deep as the middle of the ocean. Turns out he can make it as high as the apple pie in the sky high.
Why does he sound like someone grabbed his balls, squeezed them and told him to sing. He was simply answering a question for ABC News. They wanted to know what his favorite Christmas song is. Not only did he tell them it is I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas by Gayla Peevey, he also sang part of the song for them like he was that 10-year-old girl belting it out back in 1953. Who knew he could hit those notes, but turns out he can. Now I wish I had phonograph player to play his album Noel in 45 rpm, just so I can hear him sing Little Drummer Boy in that higher voice. Pa rum pum pum pum!
On that note, the singer said that the best Christmas gift he got as a little boy was a drum set. Which makes that song even more fitting for his Christmas album.
BTW can you tell someone got into the Egg Nog a few days early?

Does Josh Groban have a new girl in his life? |

Ever since Josh Groban broke up with Kat Dennings, the singer has mostly been single. But then he was photographed twisting the night away with a new woman, so is he off the market again? Nope, he fostered her for one night only for the CBS special A Home for the Holidays that airs a week from tonight. The 19th annual event tells positive and inspiring stories about adoption and foster care in hopes of bringing awareness about the issue.
And talking about issues, I think this one photograph proves Groob is going to be the coolest dad at the father/daughter dances and needs to work on making that happen. Don’t you think he is going to be a great dad?
