A rockin’ version of Row, Row, Row Your Boat!
March 14th, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake. [ Comments: none ]

Justin Timberlake continued his week long stay at NBC’s Late Night by going back to the song basics. Along with Jimmy Fallon he sang Row, Row, Row Your Boat as Michael McDonald along with the Doobie Brothers singer and all I have to say is wow. Who knew the nursery rhyme we all sang as children could be so rockin’. I hope they plan on Takin’ It to the Streets because it is a tune that all the generations could love and sing together like the 3 men did!

Justin Timberlake is bringing the SexyBack to Barbershop Quartets!
March 13th, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake. [ Comments: none ]

The Ragtime Gals were back on Late Night yesterday and they had a special guest star harmonizing with them. Justin Timberlake brought SexyBack in a way it has never been done before and it has never been done so sexy! I think he should rerecord his biggest hit with a Barbershop Quartet because it never sounds better than it did on the NBC late night talk show.

Howard Stern to replace Jimmy Fallon?
March 6th, 2013 under Howard Stern, Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Over the weekend a rumor started that NBC is looking to replace Jay Leno with Jimmy Fallon when the current Tonight Show host’s contract expires in 2014. Well today the NY Post is reporting that and that Howard Stern is being groomed to replace Fallon on Late Night.
I think that Stern is a good choice because he has interviewing skills and he knows how to keep an audience entertained, but can he make the transition from radio to broadcast television. I say that because you know NBC will be put a leash on him and he won’t be able to do the stuff he is known for in the morning. So can a clean Stern be as good as a dirty one? He is a great guest on the late night talk shows, but that is only for two segments and him being the interviewee. Can he handle doing the show by himself in a restricted format? I don’t know. Muzzling someone like him doesn’t work, check the last few big awards shows.
Now when it comes to the timeslot, I think NBC would be smarter to give Stern The Tonight Show and keep Fallon where he is. Stern has a bigger following and can bring in a younger audience. But then again the advantage of him taking over late night is that he can be raunchier at 12:37a than he can at 11:35p.
Plus if given the earlier time, I am not sure Stern would want to compete head to head with his two friends Jimmy Kimmel and David Letterman. He might feel more comfortable going up against Craig Ferguson. And if that were to be the case, I think The Late Late Show’s days would be numbered because CBS would be slaughtered by Stern.
I don’t know what to make of it all. It is an interesting choice. It has its positives and its negatives. It will be fun to see how it all plays out and if NBC will finally confirm the rumors that this is all happening which so far they have denied
And this could all be a waste of time because they can make the changes and then a few months later Leno could take back The Tonight Show. It’s not like he hasn’t done it before.

Michelle Obama demonstrates the Evolution of Mom Dancing!
February 23rd, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Michelle Obama was a guest on Late Night yesterday and Jimmy Fallon and the First Lady of the United States showed us the Evolution of Mom Dancing. We learned moves like “Go Shopping, Get Groceries” and “Driving the Station Wagon” and it was enjoyable lesson! She can really get down like a soccer mom.
Oh and I think Fallon has been spending way too much time with Tina Fey because he is starting to look exactly like her.

Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert sing the whitest song!
February 22nd, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Just when you thought that Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert were the best of friends, turns out they aren’t as close as we thought they are. Yesterday on Late Night the two hosts got each other the same gift, so you might think that would show how in tune they are which each other. Only thing is they both invited the other one to their own Oscar party. When neither one would cancel their plans to spend Sunday with the other one, they realized there is still a wall between them. So they tried to break it down by reworking the lyrics to Ebony and Ivory to Ivory and Ivory. It might not have made things copacetic between them, but I know it did what it is supposed to do for me!
