Anthony Weiner’s mayoral ad was the joke of late night!
May 23rd, 2013 under Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

Anthony Weiner announced that he is running for mayor of NYC on YouTube and the late night hosts had a field day with it. You might remember he was the US congressman who Tweeted pic of his Weiner, so the fact that he is once again running for office is enough of a joke by itself. So when he posted an ad on YouTube Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon all did their takes on his announcement on their shows yesterday, while Jay Leno just made a joke about it in his monologue. Making his YouTube video even funnier than he intended it to be.
When it comes to how I ranked the bits, they are in the order I posted them. Which was your favorite?

Seth Meyers is the new host of Late Night
May 12th, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

NBC announced today that Seth Meyers will be replacing Jimmy Fallon on Late Night, who is replacing Jay Leno on The Tonight Show in 2014. Does anyone besides Robert Greenblatt and Lorne Michaels actually think this is a good idea? Seriously has he proven himself to be worthy of the job? Does anyone even know who he is? I am sure I am not the only one who confuses him for Andy Samberg. I do that because he hasn’t done anything for me to remember him by. He is a snoozefest. Which I guess is a good thing because that is what people are trying to do when they actually stay up to watch the NBC late night show at 12:35a.
I just thought of a few people who are loving this idea The head of CBS Les Moonves, Craig Ferguson, who hosts The Late Late Show, David Letterman, who produces LLS, The head of ABC Paul Lee and the people behind Nightline because their shows just got a major ratings boost.
BTW my theory still is that Robert Greenblatt will be replaced this summer and the new head of NBC will keep Leno on The Tonight Show and Fallon on Late Night. I mean it is the only the thing that they have that is #1, so why would they mess with it?

Jimmy Fallon teaches a fan getting what you want, isn’t always a good thing!
May 9th, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday on Late Night, Jimmy Fallon was reading off the requests from the Audience Suggestion Box and he fulfilled one fan’s dream. Dan asked if he could get closeup serenaded by Lady Antebellum, who were guests on the show. What that means is the band will sing just inches away from his face. Quickly Dan learned that some things sound much better on paper as compared to having three people sing right into your ears. I think his eyes were saying Need You Now to go away. Seriously how awesome was expression when he realized what a mistake a made.
Now when it comes to Lady Antebellum, dang they sounded amazing harmonizing to him!

John Kransinski tells Jimmy Fallon ‘I’ll make love to you!’
May 8th, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski. [ Comments: none ]

John Krasinski was on Late Night yesterday and he challenged Jimmy Fallon to a game called Lip Sync-Off. Basically the two men lip sync a song and who ever does it better is the winner. Well at first it started off slow, but the The Office star finished it off in a big way. His last song was Boyz II Men’s I’ll Make Love to You and he serenaded the NBC late night host with it. It was so sexy that now I think Emily Blunt is one very lucky woman to have him as a husband!

Steve Martin knows how to make an entrance
May 7th, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon, Steve Martin. [ Comments: none ]

Steve Martin was on Late Night yesterday to promote his album with Paul Simon’s wife Edie Brickell and the Wild and Crazy Guy made such a grand entrance! So grand that Fallon did to Martin what Jimmy Kimmel does to Matt Damon every night and ran out of time. In fact it reminded me of when Damon was on Kimmel’s show for the first time and the ABC host read off all of Damon’s movies instead of interviewing him. And Martin’s 2 and a half minute stroll into the studio reminded me of when Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert made a triumphant walk down to Kimmel when they were on his show in Brooklyn.
I am not saying the soon-to-be-Tonight Show host copied his future competitor, just saying I see there are some resemblances to what he did.
Now when it comes to Steve Martin, it is such a feel good entrance that I just had to share it with you! Seriously didn’t it put a smile on your face? And didn’t you love the surprise cameo in the bit?
