Jimmy Buffett hospitalized for ‘some issues that needed immediate attention’
May 19th, 2023 under Jimmy Buffett. [ Comments: none ]

Jimmy Buffett was going to play his final show on his Second Wind tour tomorrow night in Charleston. But instead of going to Margaritaville, he is in the hospital for the foreseeable future.

Hello my faithful fans in Charleston and beyond. These few words from Mark Twain about life changes, seemed perfect to pass on at this time. “Challenges,” he said, “make life interesting, however overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” I had a sudden change of plans this week that affected us all. Two days ago, I was just back from a trip to the Bahamas, thawing out from the California “winter tour,” and chomping at the bit to get to Charleston. I had to stop in Boston for a check-up but wound up back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention. Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you. I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup. You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I would have ever imagined as a toe headed little boy sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, your amazing years of loyalty, and just remember, “NOT YET!”
Love to all
JB

Hopefully, the 76-year-old will be feeling better soon and singing for all of his Parrotheads!

Jimmy Buffett has cancelled or postponed all of his shows for the rest of 2022 due to an undisclosed medical reason.

“Due to health issues and brief hospitalization, Jimmy will need to refrain from
touring for the rest of the year. On doctor’s orders, he must take this time to recuperate and heal,” the statement reads. “Jimmy looks forward to getting back on stage next year.”

The 75-year-old is expected to resume his tour in March with the rescheduled dates at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Until then, he will be spending a lot of time in Margaritaville.

Blue Bloods is getting a taste of Margaritaville
November 12th, 2021 under Jimmy Buffett, NKOTB. [ Comments: 2 ]

Donnie Wahlberg shared a photo of himself with Jimmy Buffett on Rockaway Beach. The two weren’t just hanging out drinking Margaritas. They were actually there filming an episode of Blue Bloods.

So what is the legendary singer doing on the police procedural? We don’t know. And now I want to know because Danny Reagan never gets the easy cases.

What do you think happens?

Jimmy Fallon gets his Miami Vice on…in Orlando!
June 16th, 2014 under Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Fallon, Pitbull. [ Comments: none ]

Jimmy Fallon is taking The Tonight Show on its first road trip under his reign and starting tonight until Thursday at 11:35p on NBC they are in Florida at the Universal Orlando Resort.
To commemorate their trip to the Sunshine State the late night host and his sidekick Steve Higgins recreated the state’s most famous television show, Miami Vice, for their open. Looking at these photos that they shared to preview it, I can’t wait to see the whole thing tonight. Who knew the two of them were dead ringers for Crockett and Tubbs? It’s like they are twins.
And talking about twins, J-Lo is bringing her twins, not the Max and Emme, but her butt cheeks to the show tonight and she will be performing. Keenen Ivory Wayan is also a guest. Tomorrow night Florida Keys’ biggest resident Jimmy Buffet will be serving up Margaritaville as a guest and performer along with the always funny Kevin Hart. On Wednesday they will have some fun. with the band and with Rosario Dawson and Jeff Musical. Finally, on their last day in the swamp, they have Mr 305, Pitbull singing, along with George Lopez as a guest. Why do I feel that we will see Jimmy doing his best Pitbull on Thursday?
On that note, now that we know they are doing Miami Vice on the show, I hope they honor some of Florida’s other big names. I’d love to see him recreate Vanilla Ice, The Golden Girls, Burt Reynolds, Dexter, All That and Nip/Tuck to name a few. Hey maybe, they will even get a Conga Line started?
How excited are you to see The Tonight Show tape their show from Orlando, Fl?

WTF Jimmy Buffett caught with 100 ecstasy pills?
October 6th, 2006 under Arrested, Jimmy Buffett. [ Comments: none ]

FORGET Margaritaville – French authorities reportedly seized more than 100 tabs of club drug "ecstasy" from Jimmy Buffett’s luggage this week. The Grammy-winning singer got into trouble when he flew into Toulon-Hyères International Airport in the South of France on a rented private jet and customs officials started poking around in his suitcases. According to local press reports, they uncovered more than 100 tablets of the mind-bending substance. Buffett, who was on his way to chill out in the ritzy resort town of St. Tropez, was detained, but not arrested, and allowed to go free after paying a fine of 300 euros – about $380. That prompted one local newspaper editorial to term the slap-on-the-wrist punishment "a small amount for a man who makes $70 million a year." A spokeswoman for Buffett – whose hits include "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Why Don’t We Get Drunk" – denied he’d had any ecstasy in the luggage. The rep insisted, "It was medicine prescribed by his doctor." But she wouldn’t name the medicine or what ailment Buffett was using it for. She also refused to comment on why, if the substance was legally prescribed, Buffett agreed to pay the fine. "I don’t have any additional information," the flak said. Asked to contact Buffett to ask him about the incident, she said, "It’s not going to be possible." She also insisted the cops seized only 20 tablets, not the reported 100-plus. Regardless, Buffett was lucky his alleged stash wasn’t discovered in the United States, where a conviction can lead to a prison sentence and fines of up to $100,000. But the singer has had bad luck involving narcotics in the past. Ten years ago, a boat he and Bono were on near the coast of Jamaica was fired on by police who mistook them for drug traffickers. Meanwhile, the crooner, 59, a distant relative of billionaire investor Warren Buffett, will release his newest album, "Take the Weather With You," next week. Last month, he did a fund-raiser for Kinky Friedman’s Texas gubernatorial campaign.
