We know Anthony Anderson as an actor, an opera singer, a producer, and a host. But did you know he tried to do standup?
Today, when he and the cast from G20 were on The Jennifer Hudson Show, he shared that story with the host, Viola Davis, Anthony Anderson, Antony Starr, Marsai Martin, Ramón Rodríguez, Christopher Farrar, and Sabrina Impacciatore.
How did it go? “I got booed off the stage,” he said. “I went up there, I guess I wasn’t that funny. So, they turned my mic off within the first 15 seconds. And I was like, ‘I don’t need a mic,’ and threw my mic on the stage. So I started to try to tell jokes with no mic, so they turned the lights off on the stage…So I had to walk off the stage. And, I walked out the back door to my car and drove with the heat on, and the windows rolled up. And I cried. So people couldn’t tell I was crying, they thought I was sweating.”
It all worked out because he probably would not have had the success he has had had he become a standup comedian.

Now, we know why he was so good during that Disco scene! That has been my favorite moment from the FBI procedural, and I adore that show and its star!
Gabriel Iglesias was a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show today. You know what that means? He walked through the Spirit Tunnel to go from the green room to get to the stage.
The comedian was shocked by their reception. However, he had the common sense to say the right thing to the staff and crew of the daytime talk show when he made it to the end and was about to go on stage. “I don’t want to leave. I want to go back,” he said to the cameraperson.
I can’t say I blame him. I would just stay there forever. Or until nature called and I could not hold it anymore. What would you do?
The Jennifer Hudson Show is becoming more famous for their Spirit Tunnels, where the guests walk past the singing crew members to get to the stage, than the talk show itself.
I find myself watching all of them just to see how the celebrities will react to the experience. Some go all out, and others are stiffer than Donald Trump dancing to The Village People’s YMCA, the anthem for the LGBTQ community.
So when I saw that Alfonso Ribeiro was a guest on the show today, I was curious if he would do The Carlton, much to the delight of everyone who participates in the Tunnel.
My JHS alum has said he will never do it again. Did he keep his promise to himself? Yes, he did, much to my disappointment and others.
You would think the Dancing with the Stars host would’ve broken his rule this one time. Guess The Carlton is dead dead.
Kevin Hart is going to be a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show tomorrow, and the actor took a photo with the host! At least, I think he did because all I see is the top of Lil Kev’s head.
On that note. Hart is there to promote his animated series Lil Kev, which is streaming on Bet+.
Who needs the Spirit Tunnels when you can do something clever like this? Actually, I love the Spirit Tunnels, so I need them.
Jennifer Hudson and her boyfriend, Commoon, went to see the Knicks play at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, and she learned that courtside seats are not as good as she thought.
During the second quarter, Knicks’ Miles McBride was trying to steal a ball at the sidelines, but instead, the basketball made a slam dunk into the EGOT winner’s face.
Did her man protect her? Nope, in fact, he elbowed her face, knocking her glasses upward.
Was she OK? Yes, but she was left shocked due to two fouls. One for getting hit and the other for having a boyfriend who failed to protect her. If he can’t do it in that scenario, then he never will be able.
