Last week, Drew Barrymore, The Talk, and Jennifer Hudson went back into production and planned on premiering the new season of their daytime talk shows tomorrow. And the striking workers of the Writers Guild of America, along with actors, were not happy with their decisions.
Therefore, they started picketing their shows because even though they are cleared by the Screen Actors Guild to do their talk shows, they are not from the WGA because they have writers from the union who work there.
So, on Friday, Barrymore released a tearful apology video, and she got attacked again. So, today, she made an announcement. “I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over,” she wrote. “I have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today. We really tried to find our way forward. And I truly hope for a resolution for the entire industry very soon.”
Shortly after her announcement, The Talk and Jennifer Hudson followed suit.
I hope that the AMPTP finally negotiates a fair contract ASAP because this is really hurting people. They have billions of dollars, and most of the people who work in show business have just hundreds left in their bank accounts. It is really bad here. People who aren’t even in the industry are struggling because they depend on the studios and their employees to keep their businesses alive.
It is disgusting how the AMPTP has handled this whole situation. Wait until they find out that you can’t take it with you in hell.
Samuel L. Jackson has done a lot of crazy things in movies throughout his 50-year career. Today on The Jennifer Hudson Show, she asked him what was the craziest.
Do you think it was from one of his Quentin Tarantino movies? Or how about one of the many, many times he has played Nick Fury? If you thought it was one of those films, you would be wrong. It was actually 1996’s The Long Kiss Goodnight.
In that movie, he and Geena Davis are escaping a shootout in a train station as a grenade is going off. Davis uses her machine gun to shoot out the window so that they can jump down into the ice below. Then, as they freefalling to the ground, she shoots at the ice to break it. And then we see them hit the ice and come up for air.
You would think that director Renny Harlin would have used stunt doubles for his wife and Jackson, but he didn’t. So the two actors were submerged in the freezing cold water to make that scene look realistic.
So they would have to go down into the frozen water, stay there for 5 seconds, come up, run across the ice, and wait in a hot tub so the director could see how it looked.
After the first try, Harlin wasn’t happy. So they did it four more times. By the fifth time, EMS was waiting on standby. And that was a good thing because Jackson woke up in his trailer covered in one of those silver warming blankets after the fifth take.
So you would think after all of that, he would have hated that film. But he loves it so much that it is actually one of his favorites.
It was definitely memorable for him. To see that unforgettable scene, then click here!
You might not know this, but Tisha Campbell is a child actress, so she has been part of the Hollywood scene for a really long time. Therefore, she has a lot of interesting stories to tell, and she spilled the Tea-sha on The Jennifer Hudson Show tomorrow.
One of the things the actress revealed is that she once made Thanksgiving dinner for Tupac Shukar. Not only that, Whitney Houston braided her hair when they both auditioned for the same thing.
But her most shocking reveal is that Lenny Kravitz was her first boyfriend. That’s right, the singer and her dated. But it didn’t get too exciting because they were in their early teens. Still, who wouldn’t want to have him as their first boyfriend? Actually, I wouldn’t because he would ruin all men for me after that.
After watching this interview and the one she did with Sherri Shepherd, I want to girl talk with her because you know she has stories for days! And I am here for all of them.
This year, Jennifer Hudson launched her talk show, and Jerry O’Connell began hosting Pictionary. And now, the two of them got together to help Josh and Davon start the rest of their lives together.
Today on The Jennifer Hudson Show, J-Hd asked J-O’Con to bring his drawing game show to hers. Because they had something secretly planned.
What was it? They were going to help Josh propose to his boyfriend of two years! And it worked because Josh was able to get down on his knee to surprise Davon with that one question.
Did Davon say yes? How could he say no to that heartfelt proposal?
