James Corden goes Primetime, People v OJ listens to the Fuhrman tapes
March 29th, 2016 under James Corden. [ Comments: none ]

In honor of The Late Late Show with James Corden celebrating its first year on TV, CBS is giving him a primetime special tonight at 10p.
The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special starts off with a longer version of that song and dance number. Then after the commercial break they re-air the one with Adele, followed by taking Grease to the crosswalk outside his studio, a Carpool Karaoke mashup, Corden getting a job as a real estate agent and finally getting in the car to sing with Jennifer Lopez. The late night host asks her if she insured her butt and also sends a text from her to Leonardo DiCaprio that gets her in trouble. Wait until you see how the Oscar winner responds to it.
While the whole special is not only Carpool Karaoke bits, it should help introduce him to people who are not familiar with his talk show. It will give them a taste of what his Late Late Show is all about.

Also at 10p but over at FX, it is the moment you have been waiting for on American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson. The Defense gets a tip that there are very incriminating tapes out there of Mark Fuhrman (Steven Pasquale). They contact the holder of the tapes, who interviewed him for a screenplay, and she refuses to give them up. F Lee Bailey (Nathan Lane) and Johnny Cochran (Courtney B Vance) go to North Carolina to ask the court to force her to release them. Eventually they win their case and the tapes are theirs.
Something they are excited about until they listen them. Turns out Fuhrman had horrible things to say about Judge Ito’s (Kenneth Choi) wife, who was his commanding officer, and that might mean that he will be forced to step down from the case.
Now, Ito needs another Judge to decide if he can stay on the case. Once that other judge rules that he can stay on the case, Ito now has to rule on the tapes. How much of the 13 hours will he deem to be admissible to the case? Enough to make Marcia Clark (Sarah Paulson) happy and Cochran pissed.
And what would be the point of all of this if we don’t get to see Fuhrman take the stand one more time. It is chilling scene you don’t want to miss. Actually, the whole tense episode is a must not miss. You truly get to see how race played a huge part in the case tonight.

Pretty Woman’s ending was much different than what we saw
March 18th, 2016 under James Corden. [ Comments: none ]

Pretty Woman was a Cinderella tale, where the hooker winds up with the rich sucessful businessman. But according to Diane Lane the whore did not wind up with a happily ever after.
The other night she was on The Late Late Show with James Corden and the CBS late night host asked her if it is true that she was up for the role. She told him, “Me and half of Hollywood. I think?” Then she described the part she was auditioning for, “That time, it was about a psychotic call girl who had a delusion of grandeur.” Wait, is that not enough to destroy the film for you? She then talked about the original ending, “So it was called 3,000 and that was her fee for the weekend. And at the end of the film she gets kicked out of a rolling limousine into the street. Get this crazy biotch away from me.”
The Cotton Club beauty then declared that she wants to see that movie, and I think we can all agree that we do too. Hollywood should totally make it a reality ASAP with Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox or Bella Thorne as Vivian Ward. George Clooney is the given for Edward Lewis. I’d pay to see that. Although, now it would probably have to be called 5,000. Inflation.

Martin Short and James Corden sing Inappropriate Musicals
March 10th, 2016 under James Corden, Martin Short. [ Comments: none ]

Back in October, James Corden did Inappropriate Musicals with Rachel Bloom and Nathan Lane. Yesterday on The Late Late Show, he did some more with Martin Short and Will Arnett. This time, they gave their take on Goodfellas, The Reverent and Gladiator.
The funny part even though they don’t think Goodfellas wouldn’t work, I think this proved that it could. When it comes to Gladiator, it reminded me of Jesus Christ Superstar. Which musical would you like to see be a hit on Off Off Broadway?

Is Reggie Watts trying to kill James Corden?

Reggie Watts is James Corden’s sidekick on The Late Late Show and he bought his boss a present. He gifted him a desk with a treadmill under it to use on the show to get a little workout. Only thing is it gave the CBS host, who could lose a pound or two, more of a workout than he was expecting. One so vigorous, I wasn’t sure he was going to make it to the first commercial break.
So you have to wonder if Watts gave him the gift to help his boss or to kill him. With Corden out of the picture, then the late night talk show would most likely be his. So it is brilliant plan, unless someone from one of the CBS procedurals decides to look into the murder.

Will Forte got poison oak on his pen!s
March 4th, 2016 under James Corden, Will Forte. [ Comments: none ]

Will Forte was on The Late Late Show yesterday and James Corden asked him if he could survive in the wild. The Last Man on Earth explained to him why he wouldn’t be able to. He revealed to the CBS late night host that one time when he had a few too many beers with his friends at the Rose Bowl, he feel down a hill and had to pee. When he sobered up, he realized that he got poison oak all over his pen!s. Which is bad enough as it, but he had a bad reaction to it. So bad, he would have to ice it every night before he went to sleep.
On a positive note, he said his little last man on Earth never looked better.
