First off, I want to say I love The Police, but I loathe Sting. Today, I am actually finding myself almost liking after him after taking part in James Corden’s newest sketch on The Late Late Show last night. The two British singers had a Battle of the Singing Waiters that could only have one winner. Sadly, the CBS late night host didn’t have a chance because Gordon Sumner brought out the big guns to win. As in sending out a Message in the Bottle for Roxanne. Even though it took Every Breath he takes, it was well worth it for the victory. A victory, we all got to relish in.
Never have I wanted to be a taping of LLS like I wish I was at this one. Hearing him sing his former band’s songs acoustically that would’ve been a memory I would never forget.
While I have been trying to avoid politics on my site, this 80 seconds video from James Corden could not be ignored. The Late Late Show host is currently the only one on broadcast who was not born here in The United States. Being an immigrant, he was nervous about flying to NYC this week after the Muslin Ban. Therefore, he filmed his experience as he entered the airport until he boarded the place. How did it go for the British citizen? Smoothly. Which is why he ended his video by saying, “Freedom of movement should be this easy for all legal immigrants. Not just the white and Christian ones.” Brilliantly said! Now if only other people in DC could understand that too. The world would be a much better place.
Bryan Cranston and his wife have been married for 27 years and yesterday the Breaking Bad star talked about how their relationship became something more on The Late Late Show.
The two met on the show Airwolf and remained friends and acting classmates for years after they met. Then one day, he gave her a kiss that went on too long. James Corden didn’t understand what that meant, so they acted it out. The kiss that lasted too long, made a lasting impression on them both. So much so, I am not sure if Cranston’s marriage will make it to their 28th.
James Corden and Neil Patrick Harris are not only Tony winners, they have also hosted Broadway’s biggest night. Yesterday, when NPH was on The Late Late Show, he challenged the host to a musical duet and only one man came out the winner. While the other one ripped his tight pants. Can you guess which one is which?
Back to the Riff-Off, they started it off with Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat from Guys & Dolls and then the man who met your mother sang Gypsy’s Everything’s Coming Up Roses. Up next he was all about Being Alive from Company while the CBS host held a note from Les Miz’s On My Own that none of us knoooooooooooooooooooooooooown he could do. If that didn’t turn you on, then them sexing it up will. JC shook his hips to All That Jazz from Chicago while Harris showed us what they are for singing Sugar Daddy from Hedwig and the Angry Inch, a role he played on the Great White Way! As NPH declared himself the winner, Corden said he was retiring from singing Showtunes. Thankfully he decided to give it one more shot as they did a duet to Hamilton’s My Shot.
Hopefully, we will see this bit again because it is pure joy.
