Harold & Kumar Go to the White Castle was a surprise hit that launched the careers of John Cho and Kal Penn, along with writers and producers Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald.
The cult classic was so popular that it got two sequels, Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas.
For the last 13 years, we have wanted another movie, and now we are getting one. “We’re fired up to bring Harold and Kumar back in a return to the unapologetically R-rated, smoke-filled chaos that started it all,” Hurwitz and Schlossberg said jointly in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s high time they puff and pass their wisdom onto a new generation. Just don’t tell their kids.”
That is all the Cobra Kai creators said, so we don’t know where Harold & Kumar will be going to this time. However, we know it will be highlarious!
On July 30th, Harold & Kumar Go to the White Castle is celebrating its 20th anniversary. And finally, after twenty years, White Castle is doing something to promote the film.
They are giving away digital versions of the stoner comedy for free. Well, sort of. In order to get it, you need to either order a Harold & Kumar Crave Clutch, which includes twenty sliders or buy two boxes of White Castle sliders in the frozen aisle by July 31st. After you do, you will be given a promo code so that you can download the highlarious feature.
What do you have to lose? You can only gain from this! Pounds and a funny movie!
True story. Every time I interview Kal Penn, I get mad. Why? Because I crave White Castle when I see him, and we have none near me. He told me I can get them at the store. But it is not the same. There is nothing like a fresh White Castle burger! It is so bad for you, but it is so delicious! And that is why Harold and Kumar did all they could to get one!
So when you read that Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is getting a spinoff, you probably were like, “No, we don’t need one.” Right? Well, the possible film is about the two valets that took Cameron’s car out for a ride is by Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald. Since they have been very respectful to The Karate Kid, I think we can expect them to do the same with Sam and Victor’s Day Off.
I just hope they find a way to bring back the snooty or was snotty maître d’ Jonathan Schmock. Maybe they can even throw in Charlie Schlatter, who played Ferris in the TV series. Who do you want to see come back?
Cobra Kai’s 5th season is going to premiere on September 9th, and today we got the first full trailer. After watching it, I need a nap. And if I am feeling that way after a less than three-minute preview, how am I going to feel after watching the whole season?
Especially since it looks exciting. What can we expect? Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.
That and a lot of fighting!
I am going to rest up over the next few weeks so that I can binge it all in one day. Then I will sleep until Halloween.
John Cho was doing the press line for Don’t Make Me Go at the Tribeca Film Festival when he was recognized by some boys on the street. They started screaming, “Are you from Harold and Kumar?” The actor responded by telling them, “No, I am from The Hangover.”
As we know, Cho was in the White Castle movie, and Ken Jeong got naked in that movie about a hangover.
So, how did the comedian react when he found the actor sold him out like that? Jeong wrote, “How dare you.”
I can’t wait to see how Jeong gets Cho back because I know it is going to be good! If I were Cho, I would be afraid, very afraid.
