Back in 1988, we became afraid to go to the circus because of the cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The oversized Klowns, who are not from Earth, put their victims in cotton candy cocoons. Which sounds really sweet, until you realize that all of the victims are dead. Therefore, you cannot eat your way out of it.
Why am I telling you all of this about a movie that came out over 30 years ago? Because it is still fresh in the minds of Universal Studios. So much so, they are adding it to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights in both Orlando (September 6th) and Hollywood (September 13th).
What can you expect from the maze that has been transported from Crescent Cove and time? They say, “Guests will be lured by the sweet smell of cotton candy and ice-cream and find themselves in an otherworldly circus tent where they’ll come face-to-face with the crazed klowns and their sinister, side-splitting antics. As they make their way through the Big Top Space Ship, guests will witness diabolical klowns making cotton candy cocoons from unsuspecting victims and will realize the joke’s on them as they are next to become the gooey snack. From one shrieking klown to the next, the mazes will lead guests through the doomed community of Crescent Cove to an eerie amusement park closed for the season. Trapped in a terrifying funhouse full of killer klowns, guests will be left screaming as there’s no stopping this twisted three-ring circus.”
I don’t know about you, but this sounds like the perfect addition to their lineup. It makes you wonder why they have not been doing it all along. I mean cotton candy, popcorn and scary clowns is what the holiday is all about.
How does Grant Cramer, who played Mike Tobacco, feel about his movie coming to life? He told me, “I’d love to see Killer Klowns become a Halloween staple just like Dracula or Frankenstein or werewolves. Every Halloween I see a few more KKFOS costumes, decorations, and cool things like this. I think it’s awesome!”
It truly is awesome. If you have never seen Killer Klowns or want to watch it again, you can check it out for free on Tubi TV. It is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. There is nothing quite like it and it can never be reproduced (please Hollywood don’t try). However, it can be enjoyed by one, by all! It is just killer fun. They don’t make movies like this anymore. Yet, it is just as timeless now as it was then.
Which is why I will be walking over to Universal Hollywood (yeah I live that close) to see what they do with this, Stranger Things, Ghostbusters and The Walking Dead in September and October.
Jessica Simpson is pregnant with her third child and that means her couples costumes are limited for Halloween. But she found one that worked for her and her husband, Eric Johnson. They went as Twins! You know the ones that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito played in the 1998 hilarious movie?
How did they do? You cannot even recognize her with DeVito’s hairline! Thus, she is the winner for 2018 in my book! Heidi Klum, who?
This Halloween is the first one for Kristen Schaal as a mom. That means she gets to dress her daughter, Ruby, up for the holiday.
Did she go with a pumpkin or a sunflower like most new parents? Nope! Instead, she dressed the 8-month-old up as Louise from Bob’s Burgers. Translation, as herself. Not only that, her husband, Rich Blomquist, dressed up as her TV father Bob. I will try not to get creeped out by that.

Mel B and her boyfriend Gary Madatyan dressed up as her Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham and her husband David Beckham for Halloween. Which is all fine and well, until you read her sign. It reads, “No I am not going on tour.” In reference to Posh Spice being the holdout for a reunion tour. That is cold.
I get that Scary Spice is mad that the tour is off, but, I think, this will definitely not make her want to do it if she was even considering it.
Mariah Carey is in Japan on Halloween, but that did not stop her from dressing up for the holiday with her boy toy Bryan Tanaka. The two of them went as a sexy nurse and hunky doctor. Which is a good thing because they will cause a lot of hearts to skip a beat. Since you are what you dress as for Halloween on Halloween and that makes them medical professionals for the day. Right? I know I dress as the b-word that rhymes with witch and that means I do not have to dress up.
