Gabrielle Union has been open about her many miscarriages and her personal struggles to become a mom. Yesterday, she and her husband, Dwyane Wade finally became parents together. The couple welcomed a beautiful baby girl via surrogate.
The actress and the basketball player wrote, “A LOVELY DAY 👶🏾👶🏾👶🏾 We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days. Welcome to the party sweet girl! #onelastdance #skintoskin @dwyanewade ❤👑🥂.”
Congrats to the couple who have been married for four years. They both have big hearts and do a lot of charity together.
This is Union’s first child and Wade’s fourth child. He has two children with his ex-wife, Zaire and Zion, and one with an ex, Xavier.
Back in May, NBC passed on LA’s Finest, a spinoff of Bad Boys starring Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union. Then a few weeks later, Canada’s Bell Media picked it up. Today, Alba revealed it will be airing here in the states.
The actress wrote, “We are here to kick ass and take names!!! LA’s Finest has been officially picked up by Charter Communications— marking their first major series order for Spectrum. @gabunion and I are coming at you guys hot with 13 episodes in 2019. It’s going down. 👯🤜🏽💥.”
This is the third cancelled/not picked up show to find a home. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was taken into custody by NBC, Netflix signed a deal with Lucifer and now this. Who is going to save The Last Man on Earth? Someone, anyone, please let me know what happens next because I need to know.
When it comes to LA’s Finest, it better do well. We need as many outlets to save the shows we love that the network’s do not.
Two weeks ago, James Shaw Jr. went into a Waffle House in Tennessee and his life was forever changed. He was not planning on going to that place, but the first one he went to was packed. When he got there, a crazed man walked into the restaurant and shot it up. Shaw bravely was able to get wrestle the gun out of his hands, even though he was grazed by a bullet, and save several more lives. After the news got out there, he was immediately declared a hero. Something he denied that he was, but encourages people that an average guy can save the day.
When Shaw got out of the hospital, he started a Go Fund Me page for the four people who did not make out that night to raise money to pay for their funerals. So far he has raised over $200,000. If that is not a hero, then I do not what is. He is what every human should strive to be. Brave, humble and charitable.
Ever since we found out his story, we have all thought what can we do for him to pay him back. Today, Ellen DeGeneres found a way to do just that. She invited Dwyane Wade, his favorite NBA player, on her show to meet him. The basketball player told Shaw that he tells his kids about him. He does that because he sees this hero as a role model.
I also find Wade to be a role model, not only did he fly out to LA just to meet Shaw, he also drove up and surprised the kids from Parkland at their school. He uses his fame for good, which is why he is a favorite! Miami puts out caring sports stars and that is a good thing.
Not only did DeGeneres get Wade to surprise Shaw, the two of them donated a combined $40,000 to his charity that brings awareness to mental health issues. Again, if anyone is a hero, then it is James Shaw Jr. Tell your kids about him because we really do need more people like this admirable man.
It is pilot season in Hollywood, and I choose to ignore it until May. That is because you never know what is going to get picked up and what isn’t. Remember when How I Met Your Father was a sure thing and then it did not happen?
Well, having said that, here is a photo from the Bad Boys television spinoff Bad Girls with Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union as the leads. They do not look as bad a$$ as Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, but they come pretty close.
Will it be enough to get them a series order from NBC? We will find out in May.
