LA Finest is the finest LA cop show!
May 13th, 2019 under Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Spectrum. [ Comments: none ]

Bad Boys was good, but they have nothing on the television spinoff LA Finest. Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union bring their sass to Spectrum OnDemand today. The networks might have rejected it, but Spectrum was smart to make it their first scripted show.

Syd (Union) moved from Miami to LA to have a calmer life as a detective after being shot and left for dead. That past makes her the tough cop that she is, but she does not share her former life with anyone including her partner.

Nancy (Jessica Alba) also has a troubled past, but she turned her life around. She is now married to Patrick McKenna (Ryan McPartlin) and together they are raising his teenage daughter Izzy (Sophie Reynolds). Patrick just got offered the job to be the District Attorney and that is going to affect the McKenna household

You don’t care about that. You want to know if they are going to be explosions, car chases, shoot outs, fights and all those other things that come with Dick Flicks. The leads might be females, but they have bigger balls than most of their male competition.

They are women hear them roar on Spectrum.

Forget Bad Boys 3, it is all about L.A. Finest now!
February 7th, 2019 under Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Spectrum. [ Comments: none ]

So Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are filming Bad Boys 3 as you read this, but that movie is not going to come out for another year. Plus, it is a one-time showing.

Its spinoff, L.A. Finest starring Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union will debut on Spectrum OnDemand May 13th. Not only that it is 13 episodes. If this trailer is just a tiny glimpse of what we can expect from the show, then who is going to want to see that movie? These actresses will show them who is boss! They are.

Boys might like their explosions and car chases, but they like it even more when there are two sexy women causing them. Thus, what is not to like about L.A. Finest?

Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union’s Bad Boys spinoff gets a home
June 26th, 2018 under Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Spectrum. [ Comments: none ]

Back in May, NBC passed on LA’s Finest, a spinoff of Bad Boys starring Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union. Then a few weeks later, Canada’s Bell Media picked it up. Today, Alba revealed it will be airing here in the states.

The actress wrote, “We are here to kick ass and take names!!! LA’s Finest has been officially picked up by Charter Communications— marking their first major series order for Spectrum. @gabunion and I are coming at you guys hot with 13 episodes in 2019. It’s going down. 👯🤜🏽💥.”

This is the third cancelled/not picked up show to find a home. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was taken into custody by NBC, Netflix signed a deal with Lucifer and now this. Who is going to save The Last Man on Earth? Someone, anyone, please let me know what happens next because I need to know.

When it comes to LA’s Finest, it better do well. We need as many outlets to save the shows we love that the network’s do not.

Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union are Bad Girls
March 13th, 2018 under Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba. [ Comments: none ]

It is pilot season in Hollywood, and I choose to ignore it until May. That is because you never know what is going to get picked up and what isn’t. Remember when How I Met Your Father was a sure thing and then it did not happen?

Well, having said that, here is a photo from the Bad Boys television spinoff Bad Girls with Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union as the leads. They do not look as bad a$$ as Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, but they come pretty close.

Will it be enough to get them a series order from NBC? We will find out in May.

BTWF print ads: Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel for Limited Too
January 25th, 2018 under Before They Were Famous, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel. [ Comments: none ]

Before Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel were on the covers of fashion magazine, they were buried between the pages of one for a Limited Too print ad. Even though they were not front or center in that photo, the fresh-faced teens were the stars of that mid-1990’s ad.
