Emmy voters feted Fox’s "24" and NBC’s "The Office" as the best drama and comedy series on televison, respectively.Kiefer Sutherland ("24")and Mariska Hargitay ("Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," NBC) won tonight’s dramatic lead acting kudos, with Tony Shalhoub (USA’s "Monk") and Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("The New Adventures Of Old Christine," CBS) winning for comedic thesping.HBO slides ahead of the pack with nine wins, including three for made for television movie "The Girl In The Café." Telepic won best made for television movie, writing for a miniseries and thesp Kelly Macdonald won for supporting actress in a miniseries or movie.Miniseries kudos went to HBO’s "Elizabeth I," which also saw actress Helen Mirren, supporting actor Jeremy Irons and helmer Tom Hooper win in their erspective categories.Pay cabler also scored with "Entourage’s" Jeremy Piven for supporting actor. Access Hollywood has learned that Dick Clark will appear onthe Emmysbroadcast later this month.The former host of "American Bandstand" has not been seen on television since he made an appearance on the ABC New Year’s Eve program, which he had hosted for many years. The icon had suffered a stroke in December

Four DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES stars – TERI HATCHER, EVA LONGORIA, MARCIA CROSS and NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN – are reportedly refusing to attend the Emmy ceremony next month (AUG06), because they weren’t nominated for any awards. The show won 15 Emmys in 2005, but received only one acting nomination this year – for ALFRE WOODARD as Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy. A source close to the actresses tells the Los Angeles Times, "None of them are going. "FELICITY (HUFFMAN) may go as a presenter because she won the lead actress Emmy last year and they usually have last year’s winner present this year’s award. "But the rest of them are definitely not going. If you’re not nominated, you really don’t have a reason to go. "It’s a lot of prep work to get in shape, all made-up, pick gowns and dressed up to these things. "It’s exhausting. And if you’re not up for an award and it’s just going to be embarrassing why go?"

I am posting one of my favorite Vanity Cards from this year’s Two and a Half Men!

Fifteen years ago I bumped into Donald Trump. Literally. I wasn’t looking where I was going and, I suppose, neither was he. Our collision caused his very large bodyguard to charge toward me in order to neutralize any possible threat to his boss. Now what happened next is why I’ve never forgotten the incident. Trump quickly looked me up and down and correctly assessed that I posed no danger. With a small, smirking frown and a dismissive little wave, he instantly communicated to his hulking assistant that I should be ignored. The entire incident couldn’t have lasted more than ten seconds. No one said, "sorry," or "excuse me," and we all went our separate ways. After all these years, the memory that lingers, the image that haunts, is of his smug pout and condescending hand gesture that somehow caused me to feel utterly insignificant. I was reminded of all this when I looked at the ratings of Two and a Half Men versus the ratings of The Apprentice. Hey, Donald, I just bumped into you again!
Go Chuck Lorre! In fact Chuck can take pleasure in the fact that he got 7 nominations today while Donald Trump’s The Apprentice got only one!

One of the Emmy nominees for best animated program is the episode of "South Park" that’s said to have angered Tom Cruise and Isaac Hayes.
The episode called "Trapped in the Closet" implies that Cruise is gay and makes fun of Scientology.
Cruise’s fellow Scientologist Isaac Hayes reportedly quit because he was upset with the episode. And when it came time to rerun it, Cruise allegedly called Comedy Central and demanded that it be pulled. It was, even though Cruise’s people denied he asked for it.
