Talk about a bloody dinner, some of the biggest names in horror today got together to talk the sh!t and compare deaths. Can you imagine the dinner conversation they were having? I know most people wouldn’t want to be a fly on that wall, but I would die to be one. So if one of you guys wants to kill me off in your next movie, I am available. Kidding.
But seriously how f*cking awesome is that picture that Adam Rifkin posted from the Master of Horrors Dinner?

The Last Exorcism trailer possessed me!
May 25th, 2010 under Eli Roth. [ Comments: none ]

After months of waiting for the trailer for The Last Exorcism, it was finally released today and it was better than I ever could’ve imagined. The Eli Roth produced film looks like it will give you nightmares for years to come and even after saying that I can’t wait to see it when it comes out August 27th. Hopefully there will be clergy in the theaters it shows in because that movie looks like it can possess the audience and exorcisms might be needed.
BTW if you are in LA it will be premiering at the LA Film Festival on June 24th if you want to see it two months before the release date.

The best speeches from the SAG Awards
January 24th, 2010 under Awards, Betty White, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino, Sandra Bullock. [ Comments: none ]

If you are like me and find all these Awards shows extremely boring, here are the best speeches from last night’s SAG Awards!
If it weren’t for the fact they were honoring Betty White, I would not have DVRed the SAG Awards, but as they said who doesn’t love Betty White! And what an introduction Sandra Bullock gave to Betty as she received the much deserved Life Achievement Award and what an acceptance speech Ms Betty White gave when she got the naked little man statuette! I especially loved the clip reel because I never saw Betty’s early work before so it was such a joy to see she is really a brunette. Who knew she wasn’t a natural blonde? I also love that the Golden Girl is 88 years young and she still has all of her wit…her dirty little wit!!! Now when it comes to Sandra accepting her award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for a Motion Picture, how much did you adore her speech where she praises her husband! I so want a marriage like theirs because you can tell that they really love each other, afterall he is wearing a monkey suit for her. Next time she forces him to dress up is the Oscars!!!
Next up is Drew Barrymore, who is finally winning awards for her acting! I love her speeches and I admire that she tries to do them off the cuff. Next up for her is the Emmys, hopefully by then she will have this award accepting thing down!
Finally it is time for the Inglourious Basterds and we have Christoph Waltz who is just so humbled by all of his awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture and if anyone deserves the award for best actor this year it is him. Plus his speeches are so original and sincere, how can you not love him. Lastly we have Eli Roth accepting Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture for the cast and he is the only actor who actually named all of the cast that was up there on the stage with him when they won that honor and I respect him for that. Next up fro Christoph is the Oscars!
Here are all of the winners:
Movies:
Cast: “Inglourious Basterds.”
Actor in a leading role: Jeff Bridges, “Crazy Heart.”
Actress in a leading role: Sandra Bullock, “The Blind Side.”

Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep make out over tie
January 16th, 2010 under Eli Roth, Meryl Streep, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: 1 ]

Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep were both tied for best actress as last night’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and at first every thought there was going to be a rumble between the two when Sandra came on the stage and called bulls!it. But then Sandra went up to her co-winner and gave her big wet kiss on the lips.
Due that kiss Hollywood is now fast tracking a movie called The Blind Julia, Sandra plays a rich woman who takes in the down and out of her luck, Meryl, helps her to become a world famous chef and the two women become lovers and share a kiss that is so passionate that the CCMA give them both the Best Actress Award for the second year in a row. Expect to see it theaters this December just in time to be nominated for next year’s award’s show.
BTW you go Sandra Bullock! Hopefully this is the start of her winning all the awards for her brilliant job in The Blind Side. Who else didn’t tear up during her acceptance speech. This accolade is long overdue for her!

Another winner I want to post is Inglourious Basterds for Best Acting Ensemble! I love that Quentin Tarantino had to direct his actors (Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz and BJ Novack) to go up their to accept their award. Plus I loved when Eli Roth said, “I never thought I would say this in my life, but ‘Thank you critics.'” Mazel Tov Eli!

Eli Roth was almost done in by sea urchins
January 6th, 2010 under Eli Roth. [ Comments: none ]

(photo from TMZ)

Eli Roth, who is known for creating a new type of horror movies, almost died a death worse than some of the ones he has come up with for his films Cabin Fever and Hostel I & II. The Inglourious Basterds’ star will be next seen in Piranha 3D, but it was different type of fish that almost killed The Bear Jew.
Eli Roth Tweeted what happened to him on a week and a half ago while he was on vacation in Mexico.

It’s kind of weird to put into 140 characters, but in a nutshell I was in an ocean kayak in open water that suddenly sank. It had a hole.
I was about a mile from the shore, behind a huge rocky island. I had to swim to the island and got pulled under the water and nearly hit it
I scrambled up and got about 200 sea urchin pins in the bottom of my feet and my palms. The rock was covered in crabs. It was like a scene out of Starship Troopers. I screamed for help until a fisherman saved me. This was in Mexico. I do not speak much Spanish.
The doctor couldn’t anesthetize my foot because it would swell too much. She held up a needle and tweezers and simply said “Be brave.”
My vacation from there pretty much turned into Hostel 3. The doctor couldn’t get them all in 90 mins, so a friend continued for 6 hours.
So now I’m hobbling around. I still have sea urchin spikes in my feet & palms. I can’t get them out and have to wait for them to dissolve.
It was honestly the most painful experience I’ve ever had in my life. I just had to grit my teeth and bear it while they picked them out.
I tried to upload a photo of my feet back can’t seem to get my computer and phone in sync. It’s pretty gnarly. Wish I’d recorded my screams
I started the year nearly melting and finished it nearly drowning. Plus I had been kayaking so I was exhausted when it sank.
I’ve just been resting, taking antibiotics, soaking my feet. My hands are healing up but my feet are in rough shape.
The best part was when I googled “sea urchins” and it said that they are poisonous, but if you get 1 spike, you’ll be fine. I had over 200.
Luckily, the crabs were scared of this Bear Jew on their rock and they’d back away. But then a wave would come and displace everyone.
My feet and hands were such a mess I couldn’t walk – I had to crab-walk on my butt around the rock to find an opening where I could jump in
Two days later 4 baby sharks were spotted near where I was stranded. And where there are babies…
I got back to shore and this rich tourist was trying to introduce me to his family. I was like “Um, pardon me, I almost just died…”
I’m standing there, dripping and bleeding, and he’s drunk and is like “Hey, meet my son!” The son extends his hand. The son is also drunk.
I actually said “I’m sorry, I can’t shake your hand, I don’t really have any skin there right now. Which way’s the hospital?”
Thankfully, Geraldine the “Camera Angel” met me at the clinic to translate. She held my head through the whole thing. She is truly an angel
I spent the next 5 days “heavily medicated”, listening to Cheech & Chong. That worked wonders.

I have spoken with Eli and he told me his feet hurt him really badly and he is banged up, but that he is fine. He also told me that that above picture doesn’t capture all the details because he also had sea urchin spikes on and in between his toes. Major ouch, but he is on some good pain killers so that is helping him out.
We can see how well he is recovering tonight when he is a presenter at The People’s Choice Awards on CBS at 8p!
