The biggest event at Cannes isn't always the movies that premiere there, sometimes it auction that Sharon Stone holds for her charity AmFAR (American Foundation for AIDS Research) and this year was no exception. At this year's glammed out event Twilight vampire Robert Pattinson auctioned off an impromptu bite on the neck or as he like to refer to it as a kiss on the cheek! According to USA Today he added this after the announcement, "And if it goes really well, maybe it'll turn into something more." He ended up selling two love bites for $27,600 each. Not bad for a kiss from him! His smooch wasn't the only late-minute add, Eli Roth while auctioning off a private screening of Inglourious Basterds, decided to pluck a few hairs off of his chest (Eli's character is nicknamed The Bear Jew because he is so hairy, so the donation made sense) for the charity. But sadly the pain was for no reason, "I offered to donate my chest hair to charity, but Harvey said, 'This is not one of your (expletive) horror movies, kid.'" I would've bet a $1 for each chest hair he pulled, but I am sadist and would've done it to enjoy the pain he must've gone through when he did it. His chest hairs might not have earned any dinero, but the private screening of Quentin Tarantino's WWII movie went ofr $87,500. Not bad!

Today was Inglourious Basterds day at Cannes and the movie was a huge success there! Critics loving the movie and after the premiere screening the movie got a 10 minute standing ovation.
The day stared off with a press screening and the critics were praising Quentin Taratino’s WWII movie that will change history. Then after that the cast and QT took part in a press conference where Brad Pitt told how he became Lt Aldo Raine. He said, QT came over and when he woke up the next day there 5 empty bottles of wine and a smoking apparatus, next thing he knew he was in Germany filming IB. Dang who knew Brad was such a cheap, even I can down 5 bottles of wine and still say no…I think. Eli Roth made this comment about playing his role, “Being Jewish, this is definitely for me like Kosher porn,” Roth joked. “It’s something I fantasized about since I was a very young child.” BTW how adorable is that Miami Vice Bromance between Brad and Eli?
Next up for the Basterds was the premiere and after that screening the movie got a 10 minute standing ovation! I think that says a lot! Finally those Basterds put down their weapons and lifted their glasses to celebrate a day that went extremely well!!!
I can’t wait to see this Kosher Porn of a movie when it comes out on August 21st!!!

Cannes is under way and The Carlton Hotel is welcoming the movies that are playing at the festival and the stars who are in them! Like Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds’ Brad Pitt and Eli Roth, The Transformer from Transformers, A Christmas Carol, GI Joe and Terminator Salvation to name a few. I wish the hotels in LA would do that because that looks so awesome! I mean I seriously so want to see a huge Brad and Eli like that!!! How awesome do those Basterds look, including Diane Kruger, Melanie Laurent and Til Schweiger!!!
BTW am I the only one who when they saw where they placed the GI Joe poster thought of the famous scene from Patch Adams?

Out of all the ways I would describe Eli Roth, Basterd is not one of them. But in this context I will say that Eli Roth is one very sexy Basterd!!! Dang how good does he look in the latest poster to be released from the Inglourious Basterds, XYZ is a Basterd campaign! I so can’t wait to see him as Sgt. Donny Donowitz aka The Bear Jew, the one who uses his baseball bat to get the scalps that Brad Pitt wants!!! Plus the way he described the propaganda movie Pride’s Nation, that he directed in Inglourious Basterds to MTV Movies Blog, has me for the first time wishing the summer was already over so I can see this movie already!
Why is The Weinstein Company teasing me like this and making me wait until August 21st to see this movie! Dang them and thank you!
For the first time since he accepted the role of Donnie Donowitz aka The Bear Jew in Inglourious Basterds, Eli Roth did an on-camera interview with MTV.com about the Quentin Tarantino movie! In the interview he talks about working with Brad Pitt and how they both stayed in character, which is not a character I would want to stay in. He also describes why The Bear Jew kills Nazis by swinging bats at their heads and decapitating them as compared to scalping them like Brad Pitt’s character asked. He then talked about how he got the directing duties (besides the acting one) for Pride of the Nation from his friend with the hottie Daniel Bruel. From the way he describe the propaganda film that he directed with his brother Gabe, I can’t wait to see it. I also can’t wait to see him and Inglourious Basterds on August 21st!
