Z-O-M-B-I-E-S come alive for a second movie!
February 11th, 2019 under 60s, Camryn and Milo Manheim, Disney Kids. [ Comments: none ]

Movies like La La Land can win and lose the Oscar for Best Movie in a matter of minutes, but I would rather watch the Disney Channel Musical Z-O-M-B-I-E-S over and over again instead. In fact, I have. I am not alone because Disney finally announced today that they will begin filming the sequel in the spring. I don’t know why it took them a year to make it official because I knew after watching it for the first time that it needs as many sequels as they can produce.

The first film is about Zombies being integrated into a human high school for the first time and the normals don’t want to accept them. Think what it was like when schools ended segregation, but this is with Zombies, who are no longer brain eaters. Powerful, right? Plus, this movie is filled with several catchy songs and I cannot get enough of it.

Now we just have to wait for the sequel. Which according to press release, the telemovie, “will pick up at Seabrook High where, after a groundbreaking semester, Zed (Milo Manheim) and Addison (Meg Donnelly) continue to steer both their school and community toward unity, but the arrival of a new group of outsiders—mysterious werewolves—threatens to shake up the newfound peace and causes a rift in Zed and Addison’s budding romance.”

Unlike the big screen features, Disney Channel actually makes good sequels for their movies like Descendants 2 and Teen Beach 2. I might have aged out of their demographic a long long long time ago, but that does not mean I do not still love their movies. Teen Beach and Z-O-M-B-I-E-S are two of my all-time favorites and I don’t care who knows it!

Sincerely, if you have not seen Z-O-M-B-I-E-S, then you need to watch it on the ABC app ASAP. Trying saying that three times fast. However, you will want to watch it three times fast!

Actor who plays Andi Mack’s grandfather charged with enticing a minor online
December 15th, 2018 under Disney Kids. [ Comments: none ]

I have worked with three men at three different companies, who have been arrested for soliciting a minor online. Thus, you would think by now other people would learn that if you try to do that, it is most likely a sting. I guess depraved people don’t care, so they still get caught with their pants, literally, down.

The latest busted person busted for this heinous crime is Stoney Westmoreland, 48, who plays the grandfather on Andi Mack. According to ABC 4 in Salt Lake City (where the Disney Channel is filmed), he was caught allegedly “chatting with a person on an internet app used for dating and meeting people for the ‘purpose of engaging sexual activity.’” Investigators told the news show that Westmoreland believed he was talking to a 13-year-old, sent them 4 pornographic photos, asked for oral sex and pictures in return. Yesterday, the actor is said to have went to a hotel room to meet with the teen for sexual activity, only to be arrested.

He faces being charged with one count of enticing a minor and four counts of dealing in materials harmful to a minor.

Westmoreland has barely been seen on the popular teen drama this season and now he will never been seen on the show again. The Hollywood Reporter says that he was fired from the show. A rep told the trade, “Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week.”

Peyton Elizabeth Lee, the actress, who plays Andi Mack, is 14 years old as her co-star Sofia Wylie. Her male co-stars are 16 and 17. Therefore, they had no choice but to terminate his employment. I do not blame Disney Channel for putting their younger actors at risk because there is no way they could have known. At least they did the appropriate thing and fire him.

Um, Andi Mack is back with all types of answers, Happy Together cleans up
October 8th, 2018 under Disney Kids. [ Comments: none ]

Over the summer, I watched Freaky Friday on the Disney Channel app. When it ended, it showed me the pilot to Andi Mack, a show I had been hearing about. I watched the first episode and then spent the rest of the weekend binge-watching the first two seasons. I was in love with this endearing show about a preteen girl who finds out her sister is really her mom and her parents are her grandparents. All while dealing with her first love interest who was dating an older jealous girl.

As the episodes went on, Andi’s (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) mom, Bex (Lilan Bowden), reconnected with Andi’s dad, Bowie (Trent Garrett) and the two reignited their flame together. So much so, Andi’s mom was prepared to ask him to marry her on the season finale. Only thing, his band asked to go on a world tour with them right before she proposed. Tonight at 8p, the show starts off with their wedding, so was the umm explained?

The episode starts off at the end of the summer and Bex’s beauty store is open for business. She is doing such fantastic makeovers that her mom, Cece (Lauren Tom), asks her for one. Cece wants to look gorgeous for her husband, Ham (Stoney Westmoreland), who is finally back from his vacation.

Cece is not the only one getting a makeover from Bex, so is Andi. She wants to look good for her boyfriend, Jonah (Asher Angel), who is back from camp. Do they still feel the same about each other since before he left for 8 weeks?

Talking about different, Cyrus (Joshua Rush) is not the same boy who left for London over the summer. There is something that changed about him and his friends do not like it. Buffy (Joshua Rush) has also been keeping a secret from her friends and Andi finds out about it tonight. How she will handle it?

A lot happens on the season premiere. It answers so many questions from the season finale while asking a bunch of new ones. You do not have to be a teen to enjoy this show, but it will make you feel like one all over again. I just love the innocence of this show that does not shy away from taking on issues like Cyrus’ coming out.

If you are never seen it, start binging now. I promise you will be enjoying it as much as I am.

Then at 8:30p on CBS, even though it is Happy Together’s second episode they are already cleaning house.

Now that Cooper James (Felix Mallard) is living with Jake (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Clair (Amber Stevens West), the rock star has decided to have his stuff shipped to their house. When just one little box comes for him, they have to find out from him where is the rest of it.

He tells them he scrubs his past whenever he moves and gets rid of his old junk. Something they decide to do for themselves too. The only problem is that it is not as easy for them as it was for him. What happens when it is too late to get their stuff back from Good Will?

Back to Clake, the couple realizes that they are starting to turn into her parents (Victor Williams and Stephnie Weir). Her parents dress alike and finish each other’s sentences, it is like they are the same person. That is what is happening to Clair and Jake. Will they be able to become indivisuals again?

Out of all of the new sitcom, this one makes me laugh the hardest. Please watch it because we all need some laughs in our lives. This definitely delivers tonight. There are several moments that will make you do a spit take. It also proves how amazing the chemistry is between the actors. There is truly is a scene that shows how perfect timing and chemistry can make or break comedy. Tonight, they make it.

That and you do want to miss seeing the scariest doll since Annabelle.

The live-action Dumbo looks like The Greatest Showman with an elephant
June 13th, 2018 under Disney Kids. [ Comments: none ]

I remembered that Disney is doing a live-action version of Dumbo, I just forgot that it is being done by Tim Burton. As soon as I saw his name on the screen, I let out a loud, “grrr.” Every movie he does is the same thing, the only thing missing from this one is Johnny Deep. Unless he is in the elephant suit?

I know people like Kevin Smith are saying things like, “F*ck you and take all of my money! Right now! Oh God I need this movie in my head, heart & soul STAT! If @Dumbo is half as good as the trailer, it may just have mended by broken heart… and then broke it all over again! If I wind up back in the hospital this trailer is to blame!” I just cannot get that excited about it. I am still pissed off about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Wasn’t that remake atrocious?

To me, this film puts the dumb in Dumbo. What does it say to you? Will you be running out and seeing it in March?

Doc McStuffins’ fifth season will be its last
April 4th, 2018 under Disney Kids, Lara Jill Miller. [ Comments: none ]

Even though Doc McStuffins is a very popular cartoon with the toddlers and preschoolers, Disney Junior has decided to end the show. Parents love the positive message that the cartoon teaches their children and they fought hard to get the show another season. Which makes it so shocking that the fifth season will be its last one.

Lara Jill Miller, who voices Lambie, broke the news on Twitter today. She wrote, “Yesterday marked the end of an era- I recorded my last episode of our last season of #DocMcStuffins. What an amazing journey I’ve had for the past 8 years. ‘If you’re a toy, then you’re in luck.’ I sure was!! I’ve been so very lucky and blessed to be a part of such an inspiring, meaningful and baaaa-eautiful show. Thank you @chrisdocnee for picking me to be the one to give the cuddles. Now excuse me, I have to go mend my broken-heart-itis…💔 xo #lambie.”

She is not the only one suffering from broken-heart-itis, kids around the world feel the same way. Even though we know that the fifth season will be its last one, those final episodes still have to air. The final season will start airing later this year and continue into next year. Tell your kids that good news first.
