The CW reveals the fate of their three bubble shows
June 12th, 2023 under DC Comics, The CW. [ Comments: none ]

The CW was bought Nexstar, and they cancelled almost everything but All American and Walker. However, there were three shows that were awaiting their fate.

Today, All American: Homecoming, Superman & Lois, and Gotham Knights found out if they will be on the schedule next year.

The first two will be back for 13 and 10 episodes, respectively, but the latter will not.

It is crazy. For the first time since 2013, there will only be one DC Universe show on The CW.

Does The Flash look like the best DC movie in a long time?
February 12th, 2023 under DC Comics. [ Comments: 1 ]

The Flash has been plagued with trouble because its lead Ezra Miller, has been getting in trouble since the movie wrapped. However, it is still getting a lot of positive buzz.

Tonight, during the Super Bowl, we got to see the first trailer for the movie. Do you think that buzz is warranted?

To me, it looks like all the superhero movies, which is why I haven’t seen one since the first Avengers.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods looks like all the other DC Universe movies
January 26th, 2023 under DC Comics, Zachary Levi. [ Comments: 1 ]

I am so happy that James Gunn took over DC Studios because they desperately need a change. Almost all of the movies feel the same. They are all serious with little joy and humor.

Actually, I shouldn’t say all. The first Shazam movie had the latter two elements, but the sequel looks like it lost them.

Because of that, I feel that Gunn and Zachary Levi are going to have a talk in April that Levi is not going to like.

So you better see him as a child turned adult superhero on March 17th because it looks like it will be your last chance to do so.

The Rock reveals Black Adam 2 is not happening
December 21st, 2022 under DC Comics, The Rock. [ Comments: 6 ]

The Rock spent 15 years trying to get Black Adam made, and it finally happened. It made it all the way to theaters and delighted fans all over the world. Therefore, a sequel seemed like a done deal. But today, we found out it is not happening.

“My passionate friends, I wanted to give you a long-awaited Black Adam update regarding the character’s future in the new DC Universe. James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling,” he wrote. “However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.”

Even though DJ’s dream is on hold, he is not bitter toward Gunn. The two have supported each other through the years and will continue to do so.

Today’s revelation says to me that if Black Adam and DJ can’t move forward with the DC Studios’ chiefs, no one can. I think everyone is going to be replaced with the new regime. And that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Patty Jenkins gives an update on Wonder Woman 3
December 14th, 2022 under DC Comics. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, there were reports that DC Studios was not moving forward with Wonder Woman 3 because they were not happy with Patty Jenkins’ treatment for the film.

Yesterday, the director broke her silence on the future of the film. “Sigh… I’m not one to talk about private career matters, but I will not allow inaccuracies to continue. Here are the facts:

“I originally left Rogue Squadron after a long and productive development process when it became clear it couldn’t happen soon enough and I did not want to delay WW3 any further. When I did, Lucasfilm asked me to consider coming back to RS after WW3, which I was honored to do, so I agreed. They made a new deal with me. In fact, I am still on it and that project has been in active development ever since. I don’t know if it will happen or not. We never do until the development process is complete, but I look forward to its potential ahead.

“When there started being backlash about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread. This is simply not true. I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.

“I do not want what has been a beautiful journey with WW to land on a negative note. I have loved and been so honored to be the person who got to make these last two Wonder Woman films. She is an incredible character. Living in and around her values makes one a better person every day. I wish her and her legacy an amazing future ahead, with or without me.”

I think at this point, between James Gunn and Peter Safran just taking over DC Studios and David Zaslav killing everything good at Warner Bros Discovery, we just have to assume everything is in flux.

So in about a year, we might have a better idea of where everything stands. If any of it is still standing by then?
