Is Batman leaving DC for Marvel?
July 18th, 2018 under Conan O'Brien, DC Comics, Marvel Comics. [ Comments: none ]

When it comes to box office numbers, Marvel Comics beats DC Universe hammers down. Therefore, you cannot blame Batman for wanting to change superhero sides. Since it is time for San Diego Comic Con and both the Avengers and Justice League are there. Bruce Wayne thought this would be the perfect time to ask them if he could join them, and Conan captured their secret rendezvous.

Did Iron Man, Black Panther, Thor and Black Widow let him in? What do you think? The Dark Knight is way too dark for them and movie goers.

Seriously, why haven’t they done a DC vs Marvel movie? It would show Star Wars: The Force Awakens who is #1!

BTW be prepared to laugh out loud when someone makes a guest appearance. Well, there are a lot of them, but one better than them all.

BTWF roles: Cress Williams on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
January 16th, 2018 under Before They Were Famous, DC Comics. [ Comments: none ]

Before Cress Williams was the superhero on Black Lightning, he was a villain on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. I wonder if the 25-year-old knew that almost 22 years later, he would be starring in a DC Comics series and not just being a guest star on one.

Black Lightning strikes The CW
January 16th, 2018 under DC Comics. [ Comments: none ]

9 years ago, Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) ceased being Black Lightning, but tonight at 9p on The CW he is back.

For almost a decade Pierce has lived a quiet life as the principal of Garfield High, where his youngest daughter Jennifer (China Anne McClain) is taking classes. He gave up his vigilante life for Jennifer and her older sister, Anissa (Nafessa Williams); but when one of them gets in trouble with The 100 Gang he comes out of retirement. He tells his ex-wife Lynn (Christine Adams), he is only doing it to get rid of the gang members who are threatening his family. But once he is back, it sets off a spark in him that nothing will be able to extinguish.

Now he is back to doing what he does best and that is making the city safe again. This time, hopefully he will be able to capture his #1 enemy Tobias (Marvin “Krondon” Jones III) before he destroys Black Lightning and their city.

Black Lightning is not like the other DC Comics shows on The CW. It is much darker and more grounded in real life with a little superhero thrown into the mix. It is as intense as a powerful rain storm that keeps you pumped up until you hear that last rain drop hit the window. Something that is perfect to get you through the rest of work week.

I expect this show to hit out of the park in the ratings tonight. It is the best DC Comics show on the network since Arrow debuted. The one that started it all.

A tale of two CW Arrows
December 4th, 2017 under DC Comics, This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2006, Justin Hartley started playing The Green Arrow on Smallville, and when the show ended in 2011 so did him playing that superhero. A year later, The CW brought Arrow back but with Stephen Amell as the lead.

Ever since fans of both shows wanted to see the two of them of together, and five years later it finally happened. The new Oliver McQueen shared a photo of him with the older one and said, “You guys should see the deleted scene from #CrisisOnEarthX.” If only we got to see the This Is Us star on the 4-part DC Comics crossover, it would have done even better in the ratings and it did pretty super.

So why did they get together for this photo? We don’t know, but do we really care because it is just so awesome to see the two Green Arrows together at last.

Did Gal Gadot really threaten to quit Wonder Woman over Brett Ratner?
November 15th, 2017 under DC Comics, Gal Gadot. [ Comments: none ]

Over the weekend, Page Six reported that Gal Gadot would not re-sign on as Wonder Woman if Brett Ratner and his production company were still financing the film. Today when she was on Today, Savannah Guthrie asked her that very question. The actress told her, “At the end of the day, a lot has been written about my views and the way that I feel and everyone knows the way that I feel because I’m not hiding anything.” Then she added, “But the truth is, there’s so many people making this movie, it’s not just me, and they all echoed…the same sentiments. Everyone knew what the right thing to do, but there was nothing for me to actually come and say because was already done before this article came out.”

It is nice to hear that it was an all around decision and no one had to be forced to do the right thing. Hopefully other ones will follow suit.
