Cobie Smulders reworks Let’s Go to the Mall for coronavirus
May 8th, 2020 under Coronavirus, How I Met Your Mother. [ Comments: none ]

Once the happiest moments on How I Met Your Mother is when we saw Robin Sparkles sing Let’s Go to the Mall. A lot has happened since that episode aired. Cobie Smulders and the show’s creators, Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, updated her character’s ’90s Canadian tune for the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead of going to the mall, the actress sang Let’s All Stay at Home. Now the once happy tune made me sad, and that makes me mad. Hopefully, by Thanksgiving, I will be able to slap someone on Slapsgiving. That will make me smile again.

We need to stay inside to protect Henry Winkler!
May 8th, 2020 under Coronavirus, Henry Winkler. [ Comments: none ]

States are beginning to open up again, but that doesn’t mean it is safe to return to life as it was in 2019. There are a lot of reasons to avoid situations that could put us at risk, and protecting others who are more vulnerable to coronavirus is one of the top reasons. We need to make sure that people like Henry Winkler get all the tomorrows they deserve.

As Winkler says in this video for the California Governor, “The beauties of California, they’re all going be there once this is all over.” The flowers might still be there, but one of the nicest guys in Hollywood might not be if we don’t wear masks, wash our hands, and practice social distancing.

Remember when you were a kid and used to think people had cooties, pretend that they still do.

I will end this post with some wise words from the Fonz on Happy Days that are relevant for today’s world, “Sit on it!” If we do more of that at home today, we will be closer to going back to normal sooner rather than later.

Wassup is back

Back during the turn of the century, Budweiser had a successful line of commercials with men going, “Wassup.”

After 18 years, the sound that was funny at first and annoying after a week, is back during the Coronavirus to remind us to check in with our friends and family to find out wassup with them.

This way, when we call and scream that in their ears, they will honor social distancing by not see us in a while. Want people to stay away from you, then just yell wassup at them. If you say it to me, I will have no problem staying more than 6′ away from you.

Nickelodeon’s Danger Force is doing a quarantine episode
April 27th, 2020 under Coronavirus, Nickelodeon. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, CBS announced that All Rise is doing a quarantine episode, and now Nickeldeon’s Danger Force is doing one too on May 9th.

According to the press release, the episode centers around “the team of superheroes-in-training raising the stakes and lightening the mood with a virtually produced special where the city of Swellview is quarantined from a way-too-natural gas leak from the nearby Bhutt Factory.”

The show revolves around four kids, Chapa (Havan Flores), Miles (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Mika (Dana Heath), and Bose (Luca Luhan), who have been accidentally mutated into superheroes. Now the four of them are learning how to use their powers correctly from Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) and Schwoz (Michael D. Cohen).

I think this is a great thing that Nick is doing for the kids because it will help to make things seems a little more normal for them during all of this madness. Between this and the Kid Choice Awards, airing the week beforehand, there is plenty for them to watch on Saturday nights.

That is music to their parents’ ears. Hopefully, Frankie Grande’s musical number, This Gas Shall Pass, from the episode will be too.

The Kids Choice Awards will be the first virtual awards show
April 24th, 2020 under Coronavirus, Nickelodeon. [ Comments: none ]

Nickelodeon

The 2020 Kids Choice Awards were slated to take place in March, but like everything else, they were postponed to a later day because of Coronavirus. Today, Nickelodeon that they have been rescheduled for May 2nd.

Nick said that “this year’s virtually produced show will reveal the winners through some of the most creative orange-blimp acceptances in KCA history.” What that means, we do not know. What we do know is that there will be slime. Would it be KCA without it? Nope!

KCA will be hosted by Victoria Justice, and they are honoring LeBron James. There will be special appearances by The Avengers, Dwayne Johnson, Ariana Grande, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Camila Cabello, Millie Bobby Brown, Ellen DeGeneres, BTS, Shawn Mendes, Lil Nas X, Dove Cameron, Tom Holland, and David Dobrik.

Back to the slime, JoJo Siwa’s house is going to be filled with the stuff. If it is not all over, then who cares.

Do you care about this awards show?
