Could Oscar host Conan O’Brien also be a nominee?
August 7th, 2025 under Conan O'Brien, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

Earlier this year, Conan O’Brien proved to be one of the best Oscar hosts of all time. He did such a magnificent job that the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences didn’t wait a week to offer him the job again. And he said yes.

That was not the only job he said yes to. He also agreed to star in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Yesterday, he shared the trailer and wrote, “I’ve had a career filled with dumb luck, but getting to be even a small part of a Mary Bronstein film opposite the frighteningly talented Rose Byrne is beyond my comprehension. Check out the trailer and, yes, that is what my face looks like.”

With her life crashing down around her, Linda (Rose Byrne) attempts to navigate her child’s mysterious illness, her absent husband, a missing person, and an increasingly hostile relationship with her therapist.

After watching his performance in that teaser, I wonder if he will be nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor on Movies Biggest Night. Could you imagine? Although that would suck if he lost and had to continue hosting for the rest of the night, since it is one of the first categories of the awards show.

The year of Conan O’Brien continues! First, he hosted the Oscars. Then, he received the 25th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Today, he announced that he is joining Toy Story 5 as Smarty Pants.

And that was not the role that the Smarty Pants wanted. He was hoping to play either Buzz Lightyear or Woody. However, those roles were taken by some other unknown actors, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.

However, after reading the script, Conan thinks he got the best role in the upcoming film. Even though we don’t know what his character will be doing.

When will we see him as Smarty Pants? It will be released on June 19, 2026.

Before Conan O’Brien was interviewing celebrities for a living, he was interviewing his siblings, Kate and Luke, with whom he was living. How cute was the 11-year-old testing out his comedic timing in 1974? I love that he is still doing that little laugh.

Conan O’Brien gets his Freud on!
March 31st, 2025 under Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

Conan O’Brien is in Austria filming another episode of Conan O’Brien Must Go. If you’re in Vienna, what do you do besides sing Falco’s Vienna Calling?

Seriously, I am 1/4 Austrian, and even I don’t know what to do. While that is me? This year’s Oscar host did know what to do. He wrote, “When in Vienna, one MUST dress as Freud and analyze strangers’ dreams. I was just kicked out of a Starbucks.”

Who would’ve thought that people at a coffee shop would not want to talk sex? I thought everyone enjoyed discussing it. But that just might be me! Sex talk always gets me excited!

And now talking about sex with Conan Freud is my newest fetish! So, I need a man to dress up as Conan, dressed up as Sigmund Freud to talk dirty to me. Then I will let him Freudian Slip me!

How the hell did I get there? I guess Freud was right.

Is Conan O’Brien the last Mark Twain Prize for American Humor recipient?

Yesterday, Conan O’Brien was awarded the 26th Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The comedian might be the last recipient because you know who is dismantling everything that made it wonderful.

But it is not about the joke of the century. Instead, it is about the Comedian of the Month.

What a month O’Brien is having! He started March off by hosting the Oscars, then he was invited back to host it next year, and yesterday, he got the Mark Twain Award for telling jokes that have made us laugh with him throughout the decades.

He was not the only one the audience was laughing with. Nikki Glaser, Will Ferrell, David Letterman, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracy Morgan, Adam Sandler (who dressed for the occasion), Andy Richter, Reggie Watts, Bill Burr, John Mulaney, Sarah Silverman, Stephen Colbert, Sean Evans, Robert Smigel, and others were there to celebrate and roast him.

While they all watched it live, we can watch the Memorex version on May 4th on Netflix.

If Conan is the last funny person to receive this honor, then the Mark Twain Prize is going out with the right person.
