Mike & Molly is back on CBS tonight at 9p and you don’t want to miss the show’s best season yet.
I have to admit for the last few years, I have used this sitcom to put me to sleep because it did. Well I am happy to say that is no longer the case after watching the first three episodes of this season. I found myself laughing several times. In fact, I laughed more in the third episode than I have in the whole show’s run because it is that freaking funny.
So what is different about this season as compared to the past ones? Well it starts out with Molly (Melissa McCarthy) having a nervous breakdown in front of her class and quitting her job as a teacher. Now she has to find out what she wants to be when she grows up. Tonight she decides she wants to get into musical theater, but that dream won’t last that long. Next week she will be inspired to do something else, but we are not up to that just yet.
Through it all Mike (Billy Gardell) is such a supportive husband and that makes you wish he is your husband. He puts up with Molly, while most men would leave her. It is their sweet relationship that makes this show special. And now it looks like they have finally found the right formula to make Mike & Molly the best show it could be.
Now I don’t want to leave out the supporting cast because throughout the years they have been the wheel that keeps the show rolling. This season Swoosie Kurtz, Katy Mixon, Reno Wilson, Louis Mustillo and Rondi Reed are still the glue that holds this show together. Just wait until the third episode because that is when Mixon will steal the show and I don’t think she should ever give it back!
So if you need a laugh, then tune in for Mike & Molly and find out how truly funny this show can be!
Then at 10p it is time for a major twist on Hostages, one you will never see coming.
Ellen (Toni Collette) and Brian (Tate Donovan) have had enough and they have decided they are going to kill Duncan (Dylan McDermott), the man who has been holding them hostage. Brian has his ideas and Ellen has hers. She will go to an old friend to help her out and that person is someone we have seen before. Who is it? I will never tell, so you will have to tune in to find out.
Here is a little spoiler, someone will end tonight’s episode being stabbed in the heart. Think you know who? The only way to find out if you are correct is to tune in…
A few weeks ago CBS announced that they were casting an actress to play the late Charlie Harper’s long-lost lesbian daughter, Jenny, on Two and a Half Men. Today they said that Amber Tamblyn would be playing the half woman on the show for at least a few episodes according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Last week at the TCA CBS Summer Press Tour Day, 2.5 Men show creator Chuck Lorre gave us some insight why they went with a woman to fill Angus T Jones vacancy. He explained, “The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime.”
And on that note, Walden Schmidt and Alan Harper both ended last season as single, so does that mean Jenny and the 2 men might be sharing girlfriends? Lorre responded to my question with, “You know that could happen. You are very astute.”
One thing that won’t happen when the show returns to CBS on September 26th, is the sitcom’s name will remain the same according to Lorre.
Kunal Nayyar is on a break from filming The Big Bang Theory; and instead of just growing the hiatus beard, he also cut off the locks he’s famous for as Raj. You know what he is completely unrecognizable with the haircut, but he looks great with it. Then again I also like him with his signature look. What do you think of his summer ‘do?
Yesterday on Two and a Half Men we got to see what Ashton Kutcher would look like as a nerdy pimply faced teenager and at the end of the episode we even got a glimpse of Jon Cryer and him in Their 70’s Show. So do you like Ashton better as teen or a senior citizen? I will take him at any age I can get him.
Melissa McCarthy was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and she demonstrated to the ABC late night just how easy it is to steal someone’s identity like she does in her upcoming movie Identity Theft. First she took his credit card, then she put on his clothes and his wig before going to town with his money. She went into a local store on Hollywood Blvd and got a bunch of Oscars to go with her Emmy. But her evil plan was complete someone was there to show her that not every plan goes as smoothly as it does in the movies. You don’t want to miss the surprise ending that will have you busting a girdle!
