The first new Fall show to get a full season pick up is…
September 27th, 2017 under Chuck Lorre. [ Comments: none ]

Today is only the third day into the new Fall TV season, and we already have a new show that was picked up for a full season. It should be no surprise that is Young Sheldon.

Not only did it retain 98% of The Big Bang Theory’s audience on Monday night, it is spinoff of TV’s #1 scripted show. That and it is critics’ darling because who doesn’t love Sheldon Cooper?

Even though I said that the pickup is not a surprise, in a way it is. Because last year CBS was the last broadcast network to pick up any new shows. But then again Young Sheldon is no ordinary show.

It will be interesting to see what is next. Most likely it will be The Good Doctor if it continues to do as well as it did for ABC as it did last week. Then The Gifted on Fox or Seal Team and SWAT on CBS or Dynasty on The CW.

When it comes to the first cancellation, I am going with Me, Myself & I or Wisdom of the Crowd. I think Marvel’s Inhumans and Ten Days in the Valley will air their slated amount of episodes.

Will there be a Big Bang wedding, meet Young Sheldon and Me, Myself & I
September 25th, 2017 under CBS, Chuck Lorre. [ Comments: none ]

The Big Bang Theory is back at 8p tonight on CBS, and we find out if Amy (Mayim Bialik) says yes to Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) marriage proposal. I will not tell you how long you will have to wait for answer because that is no fun. What I will tell you is there is not one but two other surprises happening during the season premiere. That and the show is still as funny in season 11 as it was during season 1.

Then at 8:30p, we get to know Young Sheldon. Back in 1989, Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) is just 9 years old, living in a small Texas town with his family and he is about to start high school with his older brother. While George (Montana Jordan) is not looking forward to having the same classes with his genius brother who is extremely awkward, Sheldon’s twin sister, Molly (Raegan Revord) is excited not be in the same grade as her brother anymore.

Sheldon’s mom (Laurie Metcalf’s real life daughter Zoe Perry), as we know from The Big Bang Theory is a devout Christian. What we did not know, is that she was a loving mom who was very accepting of her son and his quirks. Sheldon’s dad (Lance Barber) is a coach at the high school, and he will be there to protect and look over both of his boys. George Jr is dealing with the fallback from having his strange brother at school with him and Sheldon needs help fitting in because, well you know the older version. At the end of the day, the Coopers are just a family and one you will want to get to know.

Young Sheldon does not have the feel of The Big Bang Theory. It is more like The Wonder Years or Oliver Beene. As in a sweet family dramedy that you can watch with the whole family. It is not just jokes for laughs, but moments that tug at your heart. Just like how you fell in love with the older Sheldon, you are going to love the younger version too!

Finally at 9:30p, John Laroquette returns to comedic television in Me, Myself & I. The show interweaves the life of Alex Riley during three stages of it. They are 14, 40 and 65.

When Alex was 14, his mom got remarried and moved him to Los Angeles. Now he has to deal with his stepbrother Justin (Christopher Paul Richards), who is Lakers fan as compared to Alex who loves his Michael Jordan. Alex also meets a Nori (Reylynn Caster), the girl everyone wants including him, but something happens at the school dance that ruins any chance he had with her.

Then at 40, he (Bobby Moynihan) is an inventor who has yet to invent anything that has sold. Then one day when he returns home early, he finds out his wife is cheating on him. She gets the house and custody of their daughter Abby (Skylar Gray). Just when he gets to used to their arrangement, his ex tells him she moving to San Fransisco and taking their daughter with her. Just when he is at his lowest, he finally sells one of his inventions.

Now 25 years later, he has sold many more and living the good life. Until he has a heart attack and retires. He goes back to the old dinner he went to when he was a teen and he remeets Nori (Sharon Lawrence). The two reignite their flame that was 50 years in the making.

I love Laroquette and I wanted to like this show, but I could not. The casting is awful because you do not believe that the younger versions are the same as the older ones. They do not look or act alike, so I do not know what they were thinking when they were casting this show. Plus, they just keep jumping back and forth between time and it does not flow. It would be better to have it be flashbacks from Alex at 65, then just going from 14 to 65 to 40 to 65 to 14. It is hard to keep your interest when it is too complicated to follow. Hopefully, it will get better as the show progresses, but I do not see how.

Disjointed looks highlarious!

Chuck Lorre is finally going to cable with Netflix’s Disjointed and I cannot wait to see what rules he finally gets to break. He is not held down by censors, he is free to write curses and that means this show about a Los Angeles cannabis dispensary is going to be one wild ride we are not going to want to get off. Especially, if we are smoking that the show starring Kathy Bates is about.

Get your bongs ready because you are not going to want miss a single hit when you binge watch this sitcom starting on August 25th.

Melissa Rauch has a big bang belly bump!
July 11th, 2017 under Chuck Lorre, Preggers. [ Comments: none ]

Melissa Rauch might play a mother on The Big Bang Theory, but in real life it has been a tough journey to becoming one. The actress, who is days away from filming the upcoming season of The Big Bang Theory, announced in Glamour magazine that she is expecting her first child this Fall with her husband Winston Beigel after suffering a miscarriage.

She wrote her own birth announcement as, “She is extremely overjoyed, but if she’s being honest, due to the fact that she had a miscarriage the last time she was pregnant, she’s pretty much terrified at the moment that it will happen again. She feels weird even announcing this at all, and would rather wait until her child heads off to college to tell anyone, but she figures she should probably share this news before someone sees her waddling around with her mid-section protruding and announces it first.”

No word if her character Bernadette will be pregnant with baby number 2, but CBS like us sends her their congrats.

BTW am I the only one who is picturing how her and her husband made the baby, as in just like her most epic sex scene in The Bronze. If you have never seen it, it is a drop everything now and watch it.

On a serious note, I suggest that everyone read her heartfelt article in Glamour on her road to motherhood that included infertility and a miscarriage. It is a powerful read that explains why we should not ask married women when they are going to be birthing some babies.

Jim Parsons had a Big Bang wedding!
May 15th, 2017 under Chuck Lorre, Jim Parsons, Weddings. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, when Jim Parsons was on Watch What Happens Live, someone wanted to know if he plans on marrying his boyfriend of 14 years. With a little stutter, he told Andy Cohen, “Probably.” Knowing in the back of his mind that on Saturday Todd Spiewak and him were going to make their love official at the Rainbow Room in NYC according to Page Six.

Parsons also told the Bravo host that they met on a blind date and the friends who set them made it a double date. Because their friends were there, it made it all very comfortable. So comfortable that they were planning their second date by the end of their first one. No word if the matchmakers were at the ceremony but they should’ve been the best men.

The Big Bang Theory star also told Cohen that when they first started dating, his now husband was the bread winner and supported him. Then after a few years, he landed a role that was relief to both of them. That dynamic, he says also helped to make their relationship stronger.

Here’s to them having a very happy marriage that lasts as long as they have been dating and beyond.

UPDATE: Here is the first photo of the happy couple as Mr & Mr!
