CBS released the first trailer for season 2 of Matlock, and it appears that Matty (Kathy Bates) and Olympia (Skye P. Marshall) will be fighting each other more than for their clients.
The new season of MATLOCK raises the stakes as Matty and Olympia step forward as ALLIES — but find themselves surrounded by secrets, cover-ups, and deception. In a world of ALL LIES, the question is whether even the strongest allies can hold together.
Will they be able to hold together? We will find out starting on October 12th.
Today was a very good day for Kathy Bates; she was nominated for her 15th Emmy. This time, she was nominated for Best Actress in Drama for her work on Matlock.
As soon as CBS and her co-workers heard the news, they knew they had to congratulate her. So they were all there to greet her on the set and celebrate the news.
The actress was surprised by their greeting, and you can tell she was sincerely touched by what they did for little ole her. She told them while holding back tears as not to ruin her makeup, “So nice y’all being here. You know, y’all were more than enough all this time. I didn’t need anything else. Thank you so much. This has been an extraordinary experience for an old broad like me. I love you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for being so great with me every day, so I can do what I love to do best.” Then she told them, “OK! Back to work!”
Before they did what she told them to do, they gave her another round of applause.
When it comes to her being an old broad, at 77, she is the oldest woman to be nominated in that category. She might have that distinction, but she is young at heart and proves that age is just a number, a number that gives her the right to have more car insurance.
Congrats to the woman who was rightfully nominated again! Let’s hope she brings her home the third Emmy statuette.
Jason Ritter has gone viral for dancing to the theme for Matlock. Yesterday, when he and his castmates, Kathy Bates, Skye P. Marshall, David Del Rio, and Leah Lewis, were talking about their legal drama for a For Your Consideration event, someone decided to bring out the band!
That band played the show’s opening tune, and Ritter got up and did his thing. Then he got everyone to dance with him, much to the delight of the audience and everyone who sees this video!
If I were CBS, I would record them dancing to the theme song to open every episode, just like they do on Georgie and Maddie’s First Marriage.
The cast of Matlock, Kathy Bates, Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio, and Leah Lewis are on The Jennifer Hudson Show tomorrow, and they share some secrets with the host.
Things like Ritter lost his ring on his wedding day, but he did find it. Lewis auditioned for The Voice when she was 15, but none of the judges turned around.
And then there is Bates. The legendary actress told a story about how somebody convinced her to get an “impossibly big” vibrator with lots of balls that she didn’t know how to use. She put it in her cloth purse and got on an elevator. Then it somehow turned on and made a buzzing sound. So, everyone knew what she had in her purse. And she says it was really embarrassing.
However, she was not too embarrassed to tell the audience, “Listen though. It is very good for your health. Seriously, it is great for your skin.” I can’t argue with her because she is correct! At least, that is what I tell myself when I look in the mirror and see my healthy skin.
Bates also addressed if she is retiring anytime soon. The 76-year-old says she is having too much fun working on Matlock with her castmates to retire. And we are having too much fun watching her.
