Watch Salvation’s Santiago Cabrera transform into a man twice his age |

Last night on Salvation, we thought they added a new older cast member to the show, but turns out the actor has been part of the CBS drama since day one.
The makeup department transformed the 40-year-old Santiago Cabrera into a much older man. The newly appointed president of the United States needed to go in disguise to save the world from a resist group, who wants to nuke NYC, and a meteor that is barreling towards them. In order to escape the White House undetected, he needed to put on a fat suit and prosthetics.
He could not do it alone, so he has the help of the makeup department. Cabrera recorded the transformation and CBS TV Studios shared their behind the scenes work. It is quite interesting to see him go from a middle-aged man to one that is a senior citizen in three time-lapse videos.
While I am sure his butt hurt from sitting their so long, it was well worth it because I never would have known it was him until he spoke his real voice.

Donnie Wahlberg shares a Blue Bloods spoiler |
July 25th, 2018 under CBS, NKOTB. [ Comments: none ]

Blue Bloods will not be back until September 25th on CBS, but Donnie Wahlberg shared a big change that is coming to the show. None of the Reagans are losing their jobs, but instead someone new has joined their weekly family dinners.
When season 8 ended, Jamie (Will Estes) proposed to his partner Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and this season she will be breaking bed with his family. Since those family meals are as just as important to the police procedural as the crime of the week, this is a really big deal. It will be interesting to see how they welcome her in and in turn how she will fit in with this very tight-knit family. What do you think of this change?

The fake Madam Secretary meets three real Secretaries of State |
July 24th, 2018 under CBS, Politics. [ Comments: none ]

CBS is really going to piss off Donald Trump on October 7th because former Sectretaries of State Madaline Albright, General Colin Powell and Hillary Clinton are all going to guest star on the 5th season premiere of Madam Secretary on October 7th.
What will they be doing besides making the president go from orange to red? According to the press release, “In the episode, Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord, played by Téa Leoni, turns to the former secretaries of state to ask their advice on how to respond to a delicate situation.”
If their acting is as good as how they ran the State Department, then they are all going to get Emmys. That is if the episode airs because I am sure POTUS will do everything in his power to stop it.

Salvation is back less focused on the meteor |

I love disaster movies. Anytime that I hear a new one is out, I have to see it. Last season, when I heard that CBS was doing a series about a meteor plummeting towards the Earth, I knew I had to watch it. And I did.
I stayed with it, even after it seemed to be more about politics than about the end of the world. Well tonight at 9p, Salvation is back for its second season. If someone were to tune into the show without watching the first season, then they would have no idea that a meteor is about to destroy the world. They would think it is a show about some mysterious group who just launched a nuclear bomb at America in order to get what they want. They want the most brilliant minds to build something to protect them from the impending doom. But that is not really highlighted on the show.
I am not going into specifics about the season because, to be honest, I was bored and was barely paying attention. No offense to CBS, but for the last few years, they have tried to do Sci-Fi shows. And every year, they keep screwing them when they return for a second season. Under the Dome had one of the best first seasons, and then it just went to hell for the second and third seasons. Same for Extant, Zoo and now Salvation. Thus, I say to CBS, either make sure the show can do a successful second, third and so on seasons or make them a one season event.
As someone, who prefers Sci-Fi over procedurals, I really hope they stay out of this genre from now or at least until they can get it right. Because even Jennifer Finnigan cannot save Salvation.
Having said that, I probably will stick with the show. It will just be white noise like some of the shows I watch like Empire.
