Tonight at 9p on ABC, Black-ish celebrates its 100th episode by honoring Prince. Since Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) named their twins after a John Mellencamp song, it would make sense that Jack (Miles Brown) and Diane (Marsai Martin) don’t know who Prince is and how powerful his music is to the Johnson family.
Therefore, they are going to get a lecture in the music of the artist always known as Prince. The legendary late singer touched everyone in a different way and each one of his songs that means something very special to them. That and we will find out which kid was conceived to which one of his songs.
If anyone can get you in the mood, it is Prince. If any show can make you laugh, it is Black-ish. Congrats on episode 100!

Then at 10p but over on NBC, New Amsterdam brings the heart, I mean liver. Six people will receive part of a liver from a family member of a person who also needs that body part. Basically forming a chain. Then when one family member drops out, the chain is broken. Will there be a way to save the chain or will this life-saving project turn deadly?
If Max (Ryan Eggold) does not have enough on his plate, now that his wife knows about his cancer, he cannot run away from it anymore. He will have to face it head on and make decisions that will save his own life.
There is a reason why New Amsterdam is my favorite new show of the season, it gets better with each episode. What sets this medical drama apart from the others is that it is about the patient and not the disease. That is why I always have tissues ready because you care about the people they are trying to cure.
Before Anthony Anderson was starring in shows like Black-ish, he was just a boy at the party on The Wayan Bros. Don’t blink or you will miss him making his acting debut when he was just 14 years old in that 1995 episode.
Jimmy Fallon found out that Anthony Anderson can sing opera. Yesterday when the Black-ish star was on The Tonight Show, the host asked him to belt out a few notes.
Is he really the ghetto project Pavarotti? I think we can all agree that he is. So why haven’t they done an operatic episode of Black-ish? I am sure he TV mother, Jenifer Lewis can hit all the right notes.
Black-ish begins its first season ABC next Tuesday at 9p.
Anthony Anderson’s kicks are as much of a character on Blackish as his role Dre. Therefore, when they show filmed its 100th episode yesterday, they got a cake shaped like an Air Jordan to celebrate.
Deon Cole, Miles Brown, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Marsai Martin, Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Laurence Fishburne, Jenifer Lewis, Peter Mackenzie and Jeff Meacham could not wait to cut into that cake. Hopefully, it tastes better than Dre’s sneakers after a game of hoops!
Blackish’s fifth season begins airing on ABC October 16th. The 100th episode will air sometime after that.
On February 27th, ABC aired a Black-ish repeat instead of the episode Please Baby, Please. Now we know why.
According to Variety, there were creative differences between the network and the show’s producer over the episode that took on some of today’s biggest political issues like kneeling during the National Anthem.
This is not the first time that the show has taken on hot button issues, but this is the first time the network yanked the show from the lineup. Neither the network nor the producer revealed what was too controversial for air, but I want to know what was deemed too hot for TV.
Now, when it comes to the show and how they handle political issues, I don’t think that they do as a good of a job as compared to what The Carmichael Show did and Superior Donuts does. It is just that more people watch the ABC sitcom than the other two shows. In fact, I think The Carmichael Show caused Black-ish to up their game. A game that Superior Donuts is winning, so make sure to watch it on CBS Monday nights at 9p.
