Jerry O’Connell goes to the dogs!
December 19th, 2017 under Animal Planet, Jerry O'Connell/Rebecca Romijn. [ Comments: none ]

Jerry O’Connell spent the weekend with several bitches and I am not talking about Hollywood actresses who will remain nameless. He spent Saturday and Sunday with several female dogs in heat who will be participating in the annual AKC National Championship.

O’Connell is going from behind the scenes to hosting the AKC National Championship Dog Show on Animal Planet New Year’s Day. While we are getting out of our tuxes, he will be getting into one.

I cannot think of a better person to be going dog wild with all of those pure breeds than the man that owns four of his own. I mean look at his face with all of those pooches, he is in dog heaven.

When you hear that someone has a monkey on their back, you think that means that they have a drug problem. Not Terry Crews, with him that means he actually has one on his back!
Why does he have a monkey on his back? It’s for his Animal Planet show Funniest Animal Commercials that debuts Friday at 9p. What a great way to end the week!

You are the animal you hold!
October 8th, 2015 under Animal Planet, Jimmy Kimmel, Lena Dunham. [ Comments: none ]

Lena Dunham is on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight and for some reason he brought some animals into her green room. She held the pig and he held the pussy…cat. They say you are the animal you hold, right? That is why I always hold female dogs in heat!

Can you guess what animal that fur ball is?
September 17th, 2015 under Animal Planet, Guinness World Records. [ Comments: none ]

Franchesca just made the Guinness Book of World Records, but can you tell which animal is under all of that record breaking fur? Franchesca is an Angora Rabbit, and she has the Longest Fur for a Rabbit. How long? The two year’s old fur is 36.5 cm (14.37 inches) long. According to Guinness, that is the size of two length wise subway sandwiches. Imagine being the owner who has to groom all of that fur on the Best In Show Winner? To make matters worse for Dr Better Chu, Franchesca is the mother to 4 babies who look just like her when she was younger. So her record might not be long, like her fur, for the world because one of her offsprings might knock her out of book.
Now back to Franchesca, I wish someone who would make a stuffed animal of her, for her rabbit, I mean, rabid fans. Seriously, isn’t that fur ball just bunnderful?

How much would you pay for a dead show-winning dog’s sperm?
February 17th, 2015 under Animal Planet. [ Comments: 1 ]

Did you know there is a market for sperm from show-winning dogs? I didn’t either, but there is and it ain’t cheap. Bloomberg Business says that Jere Marder, who breeds Old English Sheep Dogs, is selling her dead dog’s sperm for $2,000 a pop. That’s right, dead. Lambluv Desert Dancer, Yoshi, won 64 Best in Show awards and passed away in 2006. Even though he’s been gone for over 7 years, he left a little bit of himself behind. OK, a lot of himself behind because his master still has over 100 straws aka sperm specimens left.
Marder isn’t the only who does this, according to the American Kennel Club 2,200 litters from sperm donors have been registered with them.
While those 2,200 litters went smoothly, there have been cases where they didn’t. Just like with humans, there are times when things can wrong. Bloomberg says that in 2009, a Corgi breeder claims that her dog almost died giving birth because the dog got the sperm of Great Pyrenees, a much bigger dog. Then there are samples that didn’t travel well or were accidentally defrosted.
Still want to make sure your dog gets a purebred’s winning junk, then check out International Canine Semen Bank, they work with 50 animal hospitals around the world.
Just when you thought Sperm Banks were icky, comes news that their Sperm Banks for dogs. Wonder if the bitches donate their eggs too? I will stop there because it is all too much to contemplate.
