Simon Cowell is still recovering from breaking his back about a week and a half ago, so America’s Got Talent has to find someone to fill in for him. Last week, Kelly Clarkson sat his seat next to Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel. However, it was for one week only. That is because Mandel said in an interview with Extra that this week she starts working on the second season of her talk show.
Who is going to put their butt in Cowell’s chair this week? That seat filler job goes to Kenan Thompson. The Saturday Night Live star said, “Literally can not wait!!!! @AGT @nbc.”
I literally cannot wait to see him be a judge on the talent show tomorrow and Wednesday night at 8p. He has been a warm and compassionate judge on Bring the Funny and The Masked Singer, and I am sure he will be the same on AGT. Maybe he can stick around until SNL needs him. Heck, they can leave him here in LA and have him play Joe Biden to Maya Randolph’s Kamala Harris. She said she really doesn’t want to travel during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kelly Clarkson is filling in for Simon Cowell, who broke his back, on America’s Got Talent. Since the singer is sitting in his seat, she wants the contestants to feel like the reality show mogul is there.
How is the talk show host going to do that? She is going to do a British accent. How did it go? There is a reason why she is the American Idol. It is because she can only do an American accent. Therefore, she is keeping it Country, as in her own country.
Seriously, isn’t Clarkson cute when she tried to do the British accent?

Simon Cowell fell off of his electric bike this Saturday afternoon and broke his back. He then spent the night in surgery to repair the broken bones.
Needless to say, he is not going to be in the mood to do the live America’s Got Talent shows on Tuesday and Wednesday. Therefore, they asked Kelly Clarkson to sit his chair, and she said yes.
This gives NBC and her more exposure for her daytime talk show that just earned her an Emmy. Which makes you wonder why they didn’t ask Ellen DeGeneres to do it because she needs some positive exposure. Plus, Ellen has judging experience. Remember, she was a judge on American Idol for a failed season with Cowell. I know we try to forget about that heinous season. That was a really bad year.
