Alice Cooper and Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood were photographed doing the Tango, so do the two rockers have something to tell us? It is not that School’s Out for summer or that You Can’t Always Get What You Want. Instead, it is two old friends catching up. Oh, the stories they can tell.
Back in the ’70s, teenage girls were obsessed with the clean-cut Henry Winkler and his complete opposite rocker Alice Cooper. Back then, the two could never meet up because The Fonz was in the ’50s and the other one was in current time.
That was then, this is now. The two extremes recently met up and gave the girls of the Disco era a dream ménage à trois. Sometimes you want to date the good guy and other times you don’t. Now you don’t have to choose. Hey, school’s out forever, no more Mrs. Nice Guy. Gives a whole new meaning to sit on it!
On my birthday aka April 1, 2018 or as Christians call it Easter Sunday, NBC is going to air Jesus Christ Superstar and today they announced who will be playing King Herod. That fun role is going to The Godfather of Shock Rock or we know him as Alice Cooper. Even though he looks like he worships Satan, he actually grew up in the Church because his father was a preacher. Therefore, this is perfect for him!
Personally, I would have gone with David Hasselhoff because I think of King Herod as cheesy and well, you can see where I am going with that thought. When it comes to Jesus, I would go with Josh Groban because he kind of looks like the messiah. Jason Derulo could really surprise us as Judas because he has a powerful voice. Talking about powerful voice, you really need one to belt out I Don’t Know How to Love Him. Thus, I would cast either Rita Ora or Ariana Grande. But that is me. Who would you cast in the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical?
Fun Fact: Zero Mostel’s son Josh played King Herod in the motion picture version. I did not know that until today.
One more fun fact: Alice Cooper record King Herod’s song in 1996 (xoxo Michael), so he can do this part blindfolded! To hear his version, then click here!
Alice Cooper surprised the Bonnaroo audience with his version of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way and he made it better. Not that the song needed to made better, but it works great with his rockin’ style.
On a Lady Gaga note, she was doing a gig in New Zealand yesterday when one of dancers did a Judas on her and hit the singer on the head with a pole by accident. Mother Monster suffered a concussion from the accident according to MTV, but went on to finish the show by playing 16 more songs.
No word what happened to the dancer, but let’s just say Judas most likely finally got what was coming to him and he is hanging on that pole.
Lady Gaga Tweeted this picture of Alice Cooper and her and said, “I just died and went to Hell.” Looking at her all blood soaked like that, it does look like she went to hell. And who would ever believe that Rock and Roll Hall of Famer would be the one in the picture looking normal and not the one covered with fake blood? I guess School’s Out for him and in session for the Fame Monster.
