Tonight’s Zoey Extraordinary Playlist brings the tears on tonight’s episode, but the music makes everything seem better.
As Jane’s (Jane Levy) father (Peter Gallagher) gets closer to losing his brave fight with his illness, his family goes funeral shopping. Jane, her mom (Mary Steenburgen) and her brother (Andrew Leeds) go to a cemetery to take a look at their options. They meet (Paul Feig, Executive Producer) and he gives them the hard sell. It is really hard on Maggie (Steenburgen) and she just gotta get out of that if it’s the last thing she ever does.
Maggie tells Zoey it is just too hard, and she doesn’t know what to do because she doesn’t know anyone who has been through it. Zoey goes back to the funeral home and meets a widow (Bernadette Peters), who doesn’t seem that sad. Zoey asks her if she will help her mom through this process. After watching Steenburgen and Peters share the screen together, I want them to share the stage in a musical.
Zoey is able to help her mom, but she needs help with the bake-off over Chirp. Now that Max (Skylar Astin) and Leif (Michael Thomas Grant) are working on the 6th floor, Zoey’s team is down 2 people. Do they even have a chance of winning?
Leif is still broken-hearted over losing his love, Joan (Lauren Graham), his boss, and sings her a sad song. He is not the only one because Max is telling Zoey, bye, bye, bye.
There is one more person whose heart gets broken tonight, Mo (Alex) breaks up with Mo’s boyfriend.
All of this leads to someone getting fired from SPRQPoint. Guess who?
I don’t know what makes me sadder, the sad songs, or that next week is the season finale. I am going with the latter. I don’t want this show to end because it is my new favorite show on television. I just love it so much!
Alex Newell shared a photo looking as sexy as can be and said, “It’s my body and my business nobody’s business but my own! Felt fat…. and I liked it! #fatandsassy” Sassy is a word that perfectly sums up Alex!
Just like Newell’s character on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, you just want to be friends with the singer. I wish I had Alex’s confidence. Alex just oozes it, and that is as beautiful as the actor posing in the bathroom.

Tonight at 9p on NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Zoey (Jane Levy) becomes her father’s (Peter Gallagher) caregiver’s caregiver.
Howie (Zak Orth) reveals to Zoey in a song that he does not have the best relationship with his daughter, so she offers to help him out. Turns out, she is a big fan of Zoey because of where she works. His daughter, Abigail (Sandra Mae Frank), would love to be a coder too when she graduates college.
Zoey offers to meet Abigail with her dad, and she finds out why they are not getting along. Abigail (Sandra Mae Frank) wants to go to Kenya for a project, and her dad is afraid of her going there by herself because she is deaf. The two of them get into a fight, and she winds up singing Fight Song with her other deaf classmates for Zoey in sign language. Will Zoey be able to bring them together?
That is not the only problem Zoey will have to handle tonight, she also has to clean up the mess she created with her BFF Max (Skylar Astin), who she sang a love song to, and, engaged to someone one, Simon (John Clarence Stewart), who she kissed. Luckily Mo (Alex Newell) is working on the latter one, so that helps a little or does it?
Tonight’s episode is another one to sing about, so watch it tonight and every Sunday at 9p on NBC.
Last week’s episode of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist left us with a beautiful rendition The Proclaimers’ I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) sung by Skylar Astin. It was Max’s (Skylar Astin) way of telling Zoey (Jane Levy) that he would do anything for her because he is love with her.
Tonight at 9p on NBC, he will find another way to tell her. What will she say to him? What will he say to her when she tells him about her superpower. You know, hearing people’s most intimate thoughts when they sing to just her.
While their relationship might just be beginning, everyone at the office finds out that Joan (Lauren Graham) and her tech genius husband have ended their marriage. She doesn’t have time to focus on her failed marriage because she and Leif (Michael Thomas Grant) are working on the next big thing.
Meanwhile, Tobin (Kapil Talwalkar) is jealous that his BFF Leif is spending all of his time with Joan. What happens with Zoey tries to bring her two co-workers back together?
While she is a boss at work, her mom (Mary Steenburgen) is the boss at home. She has decided to get a caregiver for her husband (Peter Gallagher), whose illness has left him trapped in his own body. Will she find the perfect one?
Mo (Alex Newell) thinks Mo found the perfect one but has Mo? Only the perfect song will tell us.
That is something Zoey’s is never without, perfect songs, What songs will they be singing tonight?
With all the doom and gloom in the world today, enjoy some much need light with Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

Tonight at 10p on NBC, we find out Zoey’s (Jane Levy) answer to Simon (John Clarence Stewart) if should he stay or should he go on Zoey Extraordinary Playlist. Whatever she decides, she will clash with his fiancee Jessica (India de Beaufort).
Jessica sends Zoey a text, and she does not know if the fiancee knows what happened between Simon and her. Zoey does everything she can to avoid her, but then Jessica shows up at work. What does she want?
That night is Jessica and Simon’s engagement party, and Zoey decides not to go. Joan (Lauren Graham) doesn’t want to go either, so they go out and get drunk. Something Zoey needs after the day she had.
She is not the only one having a bad day, Max (Skyler Astin) thought everything was cool between Autumn after he broke up with her. He was wrong. She says some things that make him question who he is. Luckily, he runs into Mo (Alex Newell), who decides to give him a makeover. There will be nipples and a toned chest.
Sorry, I got distracted. Something Zoey’s mom (Mary Steenburgen) is not. Maggie leaves her husband (Peter Gallager) with an old friend of his, but something happens to Mitch that will send everyone running scared.
All of that, plus Astin sings a beautiful version of I Would Walk 500 Miles by The Proclaimer, and I proclaim this show gets better and better with each episode.
