Don’t stop Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Good Girls now
May 2nd, 2021 under Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Zoey is getting help for herself. Something she needs because she is starting to screw up her power. But I am getting ahead of myself.

Zoey (Jane Levy) decides to give Simon (John Clarence Stewart) a day that is all about him. He decides that they should go for a run with hundreds of other people in costumes. When they are done, they decide to have a double date with Max (Skylar Astin) and Rose (Katie Findlay) at MaxiMo.

The day before their double date, Rose asks Max something huge. What will he say?

They are not the only ones having a shared date. Mo (Alex Newell) meet’s Perry’s (David St. Louis) ex-husband and father to their children. Before that happens, Louis has a solo that will make you think he needs one every week. What a voice.

While he has a solo, Maggie (Mary Steenburgen) and Deb (Bernadette Peters) have a duet.

All of this leads to a lot of change for everyone. So you will have to tune in tonight and next week to find out how much. All I will say is that it will give you anxiety, which is related to the first song of the night. But I said too much.

Then at 10p, it is time for Good Girls. Remember two weeks ago when Beth (Christina Hendricks) and Rio (Manny Montana) got it on at his grandmother’s house? Well, the FBI heard their exchange, and Dave (Jonathan Silverman) calls her out on it in front of Ruby (Retta) and Annie (Mae Whitman). They want to know what she did with him, and they go into as graphic details as you can on broadcast TV. This is my favorite moment on TV this season.

A lot more happens on this episode, but I already got you to watch. So I won’t say any more, just that there are few scenes that will make you laugh tonight. Not as much as that one, but close.

That and a few game changers. There are always game changers, what will tonight bring this to this match?

Problems get solved and new ones start on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Good Girls
April 18th, 2021 under NBC, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on NBC”S Zoey Extraordinary Playlist, Zoey (Jane Levy) is tackling one of her hardest cases yet. Her sister-in-law is depressed, but Emily (Alice Lee) doesn’t want to talk about it. Zoey and her brother, David (Andrew Leeds), are doing everything they can to get her to open up. Will Zoey hear her heart song before it is too late?

Zoey is so busy taking care of everyone else that there is one person she is neglecting. That person is her new boyfriend, Simon (John Clarence Stewart). If Zoey doesn’t start paying attention to him, she might lose him.

Her mom (Mary Steenburgen) is dealing with her lost identity since her husband died. Therefore she calls her friend (Bernadette Peters) to help find out who she is now. Together they come up with a lot of new identities for her during a drunken night. They are not the only ones who will be having a much-needed night out. What happens when the sun comes up?

It leads to a final moment you do not want to miss.

Then at 10p, the Good Girls hold up a jewelry store. Why did Beth (Christina Hendricks), Annie (Mae Whitman), and Ruby (Retta) do it? They have their reasons, and their need for money is the biggest one. How far will they go to get it? As you can see, Beth is willing to go all the way…

Zoey’s power gets freaky on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, The Good Girls babysit
April 11th, 2021 under NBC, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on NBC’s Zoey Extraordinary Playlist, Mo (Alex Newell) takes Zoey (Jane Levy) to see a Medium to communicate with her dad. Zoey doesn’t believe in the Medium until her powers go all out whack.

She goes to see Max (Skylar Astin), and he seems happy. That is until he sings her the most gut-wrenching ballad. So powerful, you will feel it at the bottom of your soul. He says he is happy, but the heart song doesn’t tell the same story. As her day goes on, she starts to notice that everyone is singing the wrong tune.

Zoey confronts the Medium, but is she the one at fault? Zoey has to find out, so she can help the right people. Especially the person who belongs to Max’s heart song before it is too late.

Tonight’s episode is my favorite one yet. Not because it has the most songs, but because it is fun watching Mo and her trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. It is a fast-paced episode with a lot of fun melodies to tell the story. That is if you can figure out whose story is who.

Then at 10p, the Good Girs babysit because a baby is never too young to learn about crime. Well, not for that reason.

Annie (Mae Whitman) volunteers to babysit her ex-husband’s baby. It seems like an easy task until Manny (Manny Montana) tells her, Beth (Christina Hendricks), and Ruby (Retta) that he has something he needs them to do now. When Manny tells you, you have to something now, you do it. Even if you are babysitting an innocent baby.

How will their assignment go? Will the baby get out of this unscathed? All of this leads to a jaw-dropping final moment you cannot miss.

That is the thing I love most about the female-empowering drama, you never know what is going to happen next.

Zoey turns 30, so Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist gets its first original song
April 4th, 2021 under Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Zoey (Jane Levy) turns 30, so her mom (Mary Steenburgen) wants to throw her a big birthday party. She is hesitant to do it because it is so soon after her father’s death. Eventually, she gives in, and everyone but her is excited about it.

Her co-workers are looking forward to it because they want to party. Mo (Alex Newell) wants to bring the fire marshall that Mo has been crushing on. Simon (John Clarence Stewart) wants to bring his new girlfriend. Then there is Max (Skylar Astin). Zoey hears his heart song to his summer camp crush, and she wonders if their pause should be permanent.

Therefore, she decides to have that talk with him. How will it go? I can’t tell you that.

What I can tell you is that at her party, we get an original song sung by her next door neighbor Aiden (Felix Mallard), who is in a band. A band that has reignited her brother’s (Andrew Leeds) love life with his wife (Alice Lee). So much so that we get a one-take of everyone at her party singing Sixpence None the Richer’s Kiss Me to their dance partners.

As amazing as the new song Crimson Love and Kiss Me are, my favorite song comes earlier in the episode. It is a group number lead by Stewart. I always love when he gets a tune to sing.

Actually, I like when they all sing. Why don’t you? I mean, it is our second Easter in lockdown, so there is nothing to do but to watch Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Therefore, you should do it.

On a serious note, I respect how they handled Zoey not wanting to celebrate her birthday after her dad’s death. Anyone, who lost a parent, can tell you they feel the same way. I know I still do.

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist gets loud tonight
March 28th, 2021 under Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. [ Comments: none ]

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is back with Good Girls tonight at 9p on NBC. A perfect pairing for those Monday blues that are creeping through. You cannot be sad whenever you watch Zoey’s because it is such a feel-good show. Tonight’s episode is another example of that.

Zoey (Jane Levy) has a memory of looking at the stars with her dad, and she wants to do it again. She asks all of her friends and family to go with her, and they all say no. She finally finds someone to go with her. Someone that none of us would have ever expected. How will that go over?

Meanwhile, her brother (Andrew Leeds) is dealing with his new lifestyle now that he quit his job, and he is starting to Drift Away. There might be something that interests him, but he has to convince people to let him be part of it. Will he be able to do it?

Mo (Alex Newell) and Max (Skylar Astin) are finally ready to open their restaurant that doesn’t serve food. There is only one problem; the fire marshall has found a lot of problems that will prevent that. Will they be able to get it all done so that they can say Let’s Get Loud, or will they be closed down before they open.

Zoey hears a love song from someone, and it is about their Tainted Love. Will she be able to get them together?

All of this leads to a sweet ending which is why we love this show, and more of you should be watching.

If you are not watching, you are missing out on this darling show that reminds us that television can be enjoyable. Therefore, make sure to watch it. It has better song and dance numbers than American Idol. Why watch Katy Perry when you can watch a cast of people that you like and don’t annoy you.
