Chopping Mall’s Kelli Maroney is still running scared in malls |

Tomorrow, the horror movie Chopping Mall turns the big 33 and its star Kelli Maroney is still running for her life in malls. Although, this time she has a very good reason to do so.
She wrote, “I spent most of #choppingmall running for my life from a #killbot (not featured behind me in most, if not all, of the shots). In honor of the 33rd Anniversary I’ve documented my experience here in #interpretivedance—- and you can, too!! Enter @Fangoria s ridiculous contest before Friday. Take a photo of yourself in a mall holding the CM Blu-ray and win!! #choppingmallinamall.” While the prize from Fangoria is lamer than us never getting a sequel to the film, it is still fun to do.
If you have never seen Chopping Mall, you can watch it for free on Tubi TV. Make it a Maroney double feature and follow it up with Night of the Comet, one of my favorite movies. I promise you, both features will give you a whole new appreciation of malls.

Echo and a Bangles woman |

Back in the ’80s, The Bangles, and Echo and the Bunnymen had some of the biggest songs on the huge soundtracks, but, believe it or not, the never met. That was a long time ago. Over the weekend the lead singers of both groups, Susanna Hoffs and Ian McCulloch, finally got to meet.
Who knows maybe they can combine their voices for People are Strange when the Walk Like An Egyptian? Actually, who cool would it be if both bands went on tour together? The sound is so different but yet almost the same.

A ’80s boy’s wet dream! |

Back in the ’80s, boys lusted after Greatest American Hero’s Connie Sellecca, Wheel of Fortune’s Vanna White and Knot’s Landing’s Donna Mills. What they did not know is that the three of them have been getting together almost every week for lunch for the last 24 years.
If only they knew that ahead of today, they could have been a waiter at that restaurant and had their wet dreams come true. Three for the price of one. Not only that, they would have gotten more than one tip! I won’t make that other tip joke because it is too obvious.
Back to the three ladies, can you believe that Sellecca is 63, White is 61 and Mills is 78 because they still look like they did in the ’80s. Actually, they might even look better now than they did then. What do you think?

How addictive is this dance to Soft Cell’s Tainted Love? |

Back in the ’80s, everyone danced to Soft Cell’s Tainted Love, but no one came up for a dance to do it. Now, over 35 years later, Joe Kwaczala came up for a unified dance we can all do to it. Forget the Electric Side, this is a must for every wedding and Bar Mitzvah!
Now for a real challenge, try to do those moves to the original version of the song by Gloria Jones which is a lot faster. It might kill Kwaczala.

An ’80s teen girl’s wet dream: Limahl, Martin Fry and Tony Hadley! |
| October 9th, 2018 under 80s, Limahl, Spandau Ballet, Wet dream. [ Comments: none ]

Back in the ’80s, girls were in love with the lead singers of Kajagoogoo, ABC and Spandau Ballet, but never the three should meet. Thirty years later, Limahl (in sneakers), Martin Fry and Tony Hadley (in the flip-flops) got together this weekend to play a private show at the wedding of Dina & Thomas in West London.
I wonder what songs they did from their catalogs. I am thinking it was Limahl’s Never Ending Story, ABC’s The Look of Love and Spandau Ballet’s True. Three songs I would love to hear live from them. Especially since they all still look as good as they did when those tunes were climbing charts.
If you could have any living musician play your wedding, who would it be? I am going to have to sit on my choice, but I still want Air Supply’s Making Love Out of Nothing at All as my first song as a married couple.
