It has been an interesting September for Julia Louis-Dreyfus. At the beginning of the month, the actress announced that this season of Veep would be its last. Last week, she was celebrating breaking the record for the most lead actress Emmy wins by an actress. This week, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The 56-year-old broke the news on social media and is trying to be optimistic about her diagnoses. As should we. If anyone can beat cancer, it is her.
Like a lot of TV actresses, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is getting ready for television’s biggest night aka the Emmys. While we get to see them all glamorous on the red carpet, a lot goes into achieving that look. A lot more than you and I know about. Here she is getting her hair highlighted and I am sure it is not the highlight of her Emmy experience. Not even close.
In 2 years, an actress will an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy and her name will not be Julia Louis-Dreyfus for the first time in forever. That is because Veep’s upcoming 7th season will be its last. Dreyfus explained her decision to The Hollywood Reporter, “It became clear that this season should be the last season.” Then she added, “We don’t want to repeat ourselves or wear out our welcome. The story has a finality to it that feels end-of-series.” Seems obvious how the show will end its run.
Either she loses or decides not to run again. How do you feel about the political sitcom ending?
If you are going to book any music act for you total Eclipse party, Bonnie Tyler is the one that you want. Royal Caribbean was the one that got her to climb aboard their ship and sing her 1983 chart topping hit Total Eclipse of the Heart written by Jim Steinman as the moon covered the sun.
How did it go? Watch it above and hear how at 66, she still sounds like she sang it when she was just 31 years old. What a voice and what a song. Just as powerful now as it was then, thanks to her vocals and Steinman’s words.
Too bad the eclipse did not really happen when she was singing the tune. Which I thought was the whole purpose of her belting it out on Royal Caribbean’s Total Eclipse Cruise. Oh well.
Now when it comes to DNCE, when did Joe Jonas because a ’70s porn star? And where can I watch that porno?
Corey Hart’s biggest hit is 1984’s Sunglasses at Night and here is a recent photo of him of wearing sunglasses during the day looking as sexy as ever. The singer who is slowly coming back into the spotlight, held a special town hall in Boston for his fans this week.
I hope he tours the US because I think he has one of the sexiest voices in music. There is something so erotic about it, and I would love to hear it live. I have waited a long time for that!
Also if you want to have an ear orgasm, listen to Sunglasses at Night in a good pair of headphones. The stereo effect will blow your mind and his voice will wake up another area.
